Guest guest
This is probably not what you're looking for but I would strongly recommend getting Byron 's " Loving What Is " in book or tape. It has changed my life for the better and if you are willing to listen to what she says it will help you and allow you to more effectively work with your sister. At 06:53 PM 10/18/03 +0100, you wrote: >Dear All I am at the end of my tether :-(( > >I posted when I first joined about my sister who (now 36) is a junk food addict with aggressive metz BC to lung liver and bones. She has " responded well " to taxatare this 2nd time around but at the expense of her finger and toe nails and many side effects during the treatment. She was on the brink of death before she started this last chemo (April 2003) because I could not convince her that her 4 month old " cold " was not cold! Her GP assisted in this by missing the metz completely. > >She says any alternative treatments are " not for her " and her food addiction means she is incapable of changing her diet (she's still on diet coke and low fat spread but with lots of alcohol and red meat - from years of failed weight watchers - she's over 20st and has out back on most of the weight she lost within 8 weeks of stopping her chemo). > >She's in total denial and is aided by the Drs who tell her what she wants to hear. She does not understand its palliative care and each visit the Drs giver her " more good news " . If the Drs told her to change her diet etc she would do it - I have taken her to a cancer nutritionalist but she didn't even last a week trying (the diet was a very gentle introduction). She refuses to follow a " cancer diet " and has joined weight watchers recently when she has failed at it for the last 13 years!!! Has anyone come across such denial or ignorance? Is this common (I release some don't have someone to show them the alternatives but she HAS been guided and has turned her back on anything other than what the dr says). In a life and death situ why would someone chose chemo over carrot juice ???- I just don't get it nor do the rest of the family or any of my friends - are we missing something here? > >Sorry to be so long but its hard sit and do nothing for someone you love. Guest guest
I had a close friend of 30 years who also trusted her onocoligist totally and was into junk food. I had breast, neck and lymph cancer at the same time she had cancer and I did alternative meds and changed my diet--only did Western medicine for diagnosis tests and did not tell my doc what I was taking. Even after she saw my cancer tumors expelling from my body, she still listened to her doctor--stating he was an excellent doc in the cancer field. He finally convinced her to do more chemo--we all tried to convince her to change her diet and try the herbal cancer treatments and forget the chemo for awhile. Needless to say, she listened to her doctor and two weeks after the last chemo treatment--she died. Lesson I learned--you can only try to help your fiends but one has to make their own health choices--right or wrong. I can send you photos of my cancer tumors being expelled if you think it will help convince her alternatives do work. Pattie --- <lh22@...> wrote: > The only one we can heal is ourselves. Guest guest
Thanks for replying - I would like the pics for my own info (I have fibroid tumours which I am shrinking ussing what I have learnt about cancer - but my diet was 60% there already before I started). I think my sister has alot of guilt issues about her disease and her weight (22st!) and she refused a mast and this delayed surgery for 9 mths (usuing chemo to shrink an 8cm tumour which never shrunk not one bit. from Pat to Patie!!! patrician@... Guest guest
it sounds to me as if u were using protocel. i would be very interested in seeing the photos u have of the tumors being expelled, also, what u took. so many victims are so depressed thinking there is no cure, and so dont really try to fight it. Guest guest
Hi , I am afraid that you will have lots of guilt when she dies, thinking you didn't try hard enough. You have to realize that you cannot force people to change, keep trying though. She may be in denial and is just not strong enough to fight this disease. Not everybody is capable of changing even when it's life or death. Like food for instance, I need milk, I absolutely need cream and butter and chocolate and coffee. I could certainly change my diet a lot but still want those things included, maybe in smaller amounts if necessary. If I knew for a fact that one of these foods would cause cancer to grow faster I would definitely stop eating that food though. I read that foods with a low glycemic index do not promote cancer growth so the pop and alcohol that your sister drinks are probably very bad for her. If she is not even willing to take supplements, seems like she doesn't care enough to try or doesn't believe that anything will really help and that she will die when it is her time. Maybe some people do know when there is no use and it's not worth the effort because it will change nothing. A friend of mine who died, did nothing because she said there was no point, that it would not help. I think she knew and accepted and did not want to be in denial
Guest guest
, On Monday I was having some extreme anxiety over a pending ct scan and I called the woman I do holographic repatterning with. One quick session relieved my anxiety as well as cleared up a few other key issues. Half way through my session I thought of your sister. This may help her open her mind and tune into healing. I take it you are in the UK. I know holographic repatterning is available there. Try an on-line search or look in some alternative directories for a pratitioner. You can do it over the phone, don't need to be in person. HTH, Virginia --- In , " teresa " <puccinathompson@h...>
Guest guest
Virginia So sweet of you to think of my sister - shes still a baby to me even at 36 - funny the only positive thing she has done herself is to arraange to see a hypnotherapist I think to help her with her food addiction mainly - as to whether she follows that through is another thing but she has made a start. I will look into whay toy say in your email. I see an acupuncturist and she helps desress me. I wish you luck with your treatment and a long and happy life.
