Dawn,

Have you thought to contact Gammill at _vgammill@..._

(mailto:vgammill@...) ? He is very knowledgeable and helpful to the

people of this web site. If anyone would be able to assist you it would be

. He has a nonprofit center down in the San Diego are which researches

and consults on cancer. It would certainly be worth your while to contact

Check out Dr. Burzynski in Houston, TX --- he is brilliant and deals with all

cancers. He is an MD who does both conventional (has clinical trials - FDA

Approved) and alternative.

I have been reading posts for about a year now. My 20 yr old son was

diagnosed with synovial sarcoma of the pleura last April. He had the 4

rounds of prescribed chemo and CTs remained clear until today. His

report shows at least 10 moderate to large nodules in the sub pleural

region. The largest is 4.3 cm. This all happened within a 3 month period.

Because this is so rare I am having a tough time finding anyone with

positive experience using alternatives. Sarcomas act differently than

other cancers. There is a lot of fear using alternatives as some things

have been shown to cause increased growth. The dr.s are useless and

don't encourage him to even just eat right. Anyone with experience in

this area that could help me out. I am heart broken right now.

Thanks,

Dawn

Sorry to hear that.

Any specific items that you're thinking of?

Correct. Most alt. cancer treatments aren't effective w/sarcomas.

I've read that the following MAY be helpful in healing sarcoma:

fermented soy products

HOXSEY FORMULA (w/poke root, licorice, and chaparral)

SHIITAKE & reishi MUSHROOM

KOMBU (sea vegetable)

PAU D'ARCO- " inhibited Yoshida sarcoma 82% "

GREEN TEA

ELEUTHERO (SIBERIAN GINSENG)

flax oil mixed w/cottage cheese (or yogurt)

Kelley's pancreatic enzyme therapy's very effective w/soft-tissue sarcoma

(www.cancerdecisions.com/062602_page.html;

www.cancerdecisions.com/050403_page.html) if there's adequate circulation to

the tumor, but it requires taking over 100 pills/day.

methylglyoxal (contact www.natural-oncology.org for more info)

If you're considering traveling to Tijuana, Mexico, I'd contact

Center for the Study of Natural Oncology (CSNO) (501C3 non-profit)

staff@...

www.natural-oncology.org

About the only other places I'm aware of having much success w/sarcoma are

www.hufeland-klinik.de/Englisch/hufeland_clinic.htm (fever therapy & other

treatments), and

www.ibchospital.com (hyperthermia & other treatments), but I have no idea

what either of these clinic's success is w/synovial sarcoma, particularly in

patients who've had chemo.

Burzynski uses only alternative treatments, nothing conventional in the

sense of traditional chemo/radiation/surgery (as far as I know). Perhaps he

deals w/all cancers, but from what I've read he gets high success rates only

w/brain tumors, lymphoma, and renal cell carcinoma, colon, and pancreatic

cancer. He's also extraordinarily expensive. I personally would consider him

only if I had a brain tumor and was wealthy.

Let me know if you'd like more info on any of the above.
