Maciek,

I don't have first hand experience with macrobiotic diet. But for cancer,

you should be avoiding any meat products and sugar. If she is done with

chemo, she should supplement with mixed antioxidants. " Mixed " should include

vitamin A, carotenoids, vitamin C, bioflavonoids such as grape seed,

pycnogenal, quercitin, tree bark etc, coenzyme Q10, vitamin E (d-alpha) with

selenium etc. However, if your aunt has lung cancer, she should avoid beta

carotene, for lymphocytic type leukemia, avoid vitamin C.

Have you hard of Dr. Schilze? He has herbal products that you need to use

with healthy lifestyle change. His " Incurable program " consists different

things. But he says 100% vegan and raw food. This will include at least 8 to

16 oz carrot, apple and parsley juice daily, at least 3 cloves of raw

garlic daily. If person is really ill, he likes to put them on fresh organic

juice fast for 4 weeks.

Did they say why they didn't think cancer patient try macrobiotic diet other

than it doesn't work?

In my opinion, any healthy diet without meat or sugar should help anyone who

is suffering from any type of diseases. To the healthy diet, you want to add

supplements according to your problem.

It is strange for me macrobiotic diet allows no fresh fruit and raw food.

Only cooked. Why?

They do. Macrobiotic diet is based on yin and yang, and whole grain with

vegetable and sea vegetable, occasional fish and fruits. Maybe the recipe

that you saw was all cooked. So, they may cook the food if you have cool

body that needs to be warm.

Go to http://www.sensiblehealth.com and e-mail Chang for a free consultation. I think she could

handle all your questions. She is a biochemist who prescribes Chinese herbs and is knowledgable as to reasons why certain, specific, health concerns respond better to cooked foods than raw.

Hi Mike,

No I don't have any new info. Because the studies on antioxidants and chemo

& radiation are still not conclusive. And when I give advise as a lay

person, I tend to be on conservative side. I know you've talked to doctor,

and you do your own researches. Did I mentioned to you about vitamin E and

selenium? Selenium seems to protect against effects of radiation and chemo.

But you have to mix with vitamin E. You can take 400-800 iu of vitamin E per

day, adding 15 micrograms selenium per 200 IU. Do not go over 800 IU per day

as this may actually increases risk of cancer. I would like to advise to

take antioxidants before the therapy, and between. But there are people

saying that by taking antioxidants during treatment, they cope with it

better.

Hello -

Strongly suggest getting a copy of " The Alernative Medicine Drefinitive

Guide to Cancer " by Burton Goldberg. An extremely good listing of

successful alternative approaches to cancer treatment. About 1000 pages. It

will be an eye opener for you. About $50 at www.realityzone.com.

Also " Third Opinion " by Fink. A listing of alterantive care clinics

throughout the USA and some parts of Europe. Also has a good review of the

Mexican hospitals and clinics, which (person opinion) are the best at using

the full range of alternative treatments. Expensive, but good.

Call for further info if desired.

There are many " oppinions " . We're still left to " figure it out " !

YES.. thank you. they are a part of my daily suppliments.

I would like to advise to

Understand.... Radiation treatment is FIVE DAYS PER WEEK FOR FIVE WEEKS.

CHEMO IS AN IV WHICH IS DELIVERED OVER A TWO HOUR PERIOD ON THREE

CONSECUTIVE DAYS.......... AND IS GIVEN EVERY FOUR WEEKS. IN MY CASE THEY

HAVE DECIDED I WILL RECEIVE A TOTAL OF 6 CHEMO TREATMENTS OVER THE NEXT SIX

MONTHS. So when you're not gettin Chemo.... you're gettin

Rad....bla/bla/bla. I think you either DO continue with

antioxidants/suppliments or you just don't use them for the duration of the

treatments!!!!! What do you think?
