Guest guest
It is difficult not being a curmudgeon, scrooge-like, when discussing the various topics brought to us on the list. I suspect I really am a Curmudgeon but would fight to the death over being called 'Scrooge'. I remember the flap over Graviola about its being 10,000 times more powerful than something or other, and then I remember Ralph Moss the former science writer for Sloan Kettering questioning the use of such powerful terms. Moss was concerned that the future value of Graviola or other potential herbs/chemicals would be hurt by outlandish and unproven claims. In no way did Moss denigrate Graviola but rather pointed out that he could find no reliable information on the herb. Now we have Artemisinin which also has great promise. If Transferring killed one cancer cell, does the use of Artemisinin mean it would now kill 34,000 cancer cells? Wouldn't that be great? Would that it be true. I have used Artemisinin and unfortunately I still had a recurrence of cancer. I also used apricot kernels and Graviola with the same results. None of that means the products do not work as some things just do not work for everyone all the time- period! Perhaps it is time to renew my efforts with Artemisinin. I'll decide on that after upcoming tests. However, posting information on 'new' findings or 'hopes' is still good as long as we keep an open mind ........................just don't let your brains fall out. Joe C. Guest guest
I appreciate that you are keeping an open mind. I appreciated the info and its credibility because it comes from a reputable source, University of Washington, and the two well known researchers. Otherwise, I would not go for a snake-oil sales pitch either. Nadeem > It is difficult not being a curmudgeon, scrooge-like, when discussing the > various topics brought to us on the list. Guest guest
http://www.uwnews.org/article.asp?articleID=5826 Here is the article that is referred to. What it really says is that these folks at UW have developed a compound using Artemisinin and other stuff that has the impact described below (the ability to make transferrin 34,000 times more powerful at destroying cancer cells versus 'only' a 100 times for artemisinin alone). Unfortunately, it's not ready for prime-time as yet. Nadeem Sehgul <nadeemsehgul@...> wrote: An artemisinin and cancer research update from artemisinin.org Here are two recent stories regarding artemisinin: 1) Anti-cancer phytochemicals in wormwood herb found to make transferrin 34,000 times more powerful at destroying cancer cells. 2) UW licenses potential cancer treatment derived from ancient Chinese folk remedy.
