Guest guest
taking 2 tablespoons of black strap molasses and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar daily (1 morning and 1 evening each) should give you all the essential sugars your body needs and a substantially lower price than purchasing Mannateck products. Guest guest
Not sure where this whole link or concept of avoiding sugar if you have cancer came from. Seems quite absurd in one sense, if only for the fact that you have to have sugar in your diet. It is a necessary component of the food groups needed by the body to keep the immune system in balance, as well as other important process of the body. Be it refined sugar or sugar derived from foods, it is the equivalent as the gas in your car. It is not the sugar that is important, but also certain elements extracted from sugar that is blended with other substances to produce crucial compounds for balancing mental functions. For example, try depriving yourself of all sugar for a few days and see if your mood/emotions take a nose dive. Our cancer therapy uses a lot of blackstrap molasses, and if there was a link between sugar and the rate of growth of cancer cells, we certainly would not use it. Our research and information tells us otherwise. Blackstrap molasses is one of the best food stuffs you can include in your diet. Think of it more as an organic, raw, unadulterated super vitamin pill. Chuck Ellen wrote: > > Hi Sharon, > Yes, I'm aware that molasses is a sugar, and some may want to steer > clear. Guest guest
Not even close......apple cider vinegar is good as an enzyme to help with joint issues and black strap molasses has a the B vitamins. Ambertose is a glyconutrient that has the 8 monosaccharides found in mother's milk. It's a food source = not a vitamin or mineral. It works on a cellular basis to regenerate the cells, shifting the immune system from TH 2 (a high viral state) to TH 1 (a high T-cell state to fight infection, viruses, allergies etc) In a message dated 3/1/07 6:08:52 PM Eastern Standard Time, fmschwegler@... writes: > taking 2 tablespoons of black strap molasses and 2 tablespoons of > apple > > cider vinegar daily (1 morning and 1 evening each) should give you > all the > > essential sugars your body needs and a substantially lower price > ************************************** AOL now offers free email to > everyone. Guest guest
Not even close? I think you need to review the long list of vitamins, minerals and other benefits of blackstrap molasses. There's much more to that story than just a sugar and B vitamin issue. Mannatech products are based on patented or proprietary processed or synthesized extracts of sugars. As such, the claims of this or that for cell regeneration are not totally in line with the claims or justification of clinical evidence in my opinion. And yes, regardless of what one may think or claim, sugar is beneficial and necessary to the body overall. I'd like to see these referenced or claimed studies where sugar is being demonstrated to be rocket fuel or a magnet for cancer cells! Guest guest
According to 2 medical researchers I discussed this with at length, all the basic glyconutrients found in ambrotose is found in these 2 things and considering this is what they do for a living, I would tend to believe them. Guest guest
To be honest, all I ever did was take in the information from a couple of medical researchers. When my cancer was active, I never did this. I doubt I would be very disturbed by it. If I was really going after glyconutrients, I would probably purchase them from Boston Mountain Labs. But, frankly if you are eating correctly, it problaby is a moot point. Guest guest
Glyconutrients are found in any basically sweet and WHOLE food. Fruits are loaded with them. A mannatech act-alike is fairly easy to make yourself if you do the research on the web for it. I get a newsletter from Bill who is helping many people fight cancer. His latest newsletter shows some interesting information on a new supplement that boosts the immune system better than anything else that was tested on - in vitro. Even better than Mannatech's stuff. http://www.Beating-Cancer-Gently.com/nl104.html Tina in the boonies of Kentucky
Guest guest
I believe the idea that consuming sugar can encourage cancer is due to the fact that tumors concentrate sugar. This is evidenced by PET scans, which use a glucose marker to carry and concentrate radioactive media in cancer hotspots which then light up on the scan. Glucose (sugar) is concentrated in cancer cells in amounts 8-10 times that of regular cells. The research of Dr. Otto Warburg discovered that cancer cells thrive in acidic, low-oxygen environments, and can only grow and spread by anaerobically fermenting glucose to produce energy, as opposed to aerobic metabolism used by normal cells. He was awarded two Nobel prizes for his research on cancer. The idea that cancer needs sugar to replicate causes some people to reduce sources of sugar from their diet. While our bodies, especially our brains, require glucose to function, some believe that sweets and processed sugar make excessive glucose available to cancer cells. The body will produce sugar from carbohydrates, but this process may not make such large quantities of raw fuel readily available to cancer cells. Other research indicates that consuming an excess amount of sugars has other damaging effects on our health besides encouraging cancer.
