Let's define the differences. There are two special types (actually three) of air treatment. One is negligible as it just filters the air using HEPA or some other type of filtration, and effectiveness depends on the quality of the filter. The better the filter, the higher the cost and more sensitive, thus more frequent replacing. The other two types are Ionic and Ozone type systems. Ionic Systems The Ionic Breeze that is advertised by Sharper Image and similar models, is an electrostatic type cleaner. The Ionic Breeze is perhaps more effective than most electrostatic types, and easier to clean. The patented technology keeps the price high. These can be very effective at pulling the dust, dander, pollen particles and other items from the air. Limited by the amount of square feet it is recommended to handle at any given time. For example, the Ionic Breeze covers about 1200 +/- sq. ft. Ungrounded ionic generators will generally render the area around it, dark and sooty as the negative ions attach to particles and seek the closest positive ground such as the floor, table top, or a wall if close by. Had an early models in the eighties that just spewed out ions. I can assure you if it is an old one and close to a flat latex wall surface, plan on repainting. The Breeze and newer units are different in that the negative charged particles are grounded to the washable blades or other mechanism inside/outside the unit. Breeze - advertised for about $350-400. Ozone Systems Ozone systems as mentioned previously, produce O3, an unstable gas that holds together for about 15-20 minutes before reverting to normal elements. This O3 is the healthy element which can be good for you and purifies the air. Naturally occurring ozone is produced by nature and is found in the upper atmosphere. The ozone pollution that is construed on weather forecasts is man made pollution that mixes with the lower atmosphere and is the smog in the air which is not too good for us. The ozone generators will produce the beneficial O3 in the quantities it is manufactured to deliver. You can get them to integrate into your central A/C system, clean your swimming pool and reduce the amount of needed chemicals, for walk in coolers, whatever. These systems will actually purify the air of pathogens. mold, fungus and other elements in a different manner than ionic systems. Ionic systems will only clean the air electrostatically, it does not purify like the ozone generator. Both types will give the room a fresher, crisper air that is quite noticeable. Ozone systems are sold into commercial applications for food preservation and processing to kill pathogens on foods, to purify water for rinsing foods, etc. It all depends on how much you want to spend. Some home systems combine a water purification method for individuals glasses of tap water. Or you can purchase separate dedicated ozone water systems for the sink or inline plumbing. After researching them after this recent posting, I'm impressed with the ozone setups. They do make healthy sense, if you can shell out the bucks for them. Equating them as a reliable healing element might be pushing the envelope a bit, a contributing factor, perhaps. $400 and up. Thanks for the tip Gaylen. Guest guest
I have spent hours searching all of the conventional sites regarding bladder cancer and still remain puzzled. Initially a lot will depend upon whether his cancer is invasive, high grade, or low grade and non-invasive. My neighbor with bladder cancer had his tumor removed and had one recurrence and that was five years ago. Hasn't had any bladder problems however they are now treating him for Lung Cancer and so far there has been no 'association' with the bladder cancer. ???? A lot more needs to be learned re this particular case and a lot of reading and deep reading at that for the conventional sites give mixed messages and one needs to really read between the lines to get the straight answers. Key Dr. Lamm in your search engine for he is supposedly 'The' man re conventional bladder cancer treatments. Joe C.

Guest guest
Wow! Glad your doing well...
