Hi . After I changed dr's because my original pcp

(for 10 years) refused to take me seriously and test

me for hcv. I specifically asked him to test when I

got my physical (I had been showing high enzyme levels

for the past 4 or 5 physicals and was just starting to

suspect a problem), he told me to abstain from alcohol

and come back and retest the enzymes. I refused, I

told his nurse they've been high for 10 years, why

should I come in and have them tested again. Besides,

he knows (or should have known) that I don't drink.

My new dr told me the same thing your son's dr. told

him, " don't worry your health is good " . About a week

later his office called me and they suggested that I

schedule some further tests. I assume he read up on

hcv between the time I saw him and his office called

me. I guess a PCP won't have all the knowledge on

specific problems, but at least he checked it and

referred me to a specialist.

I was playing with my PC all weekend. I finally got it

all working! I've got a new toy!! I added a sound

blaster and some 3d graphics. I snuck out and bought

windowsXP. New PC needs a new operating system, right?

My wife just can't seem to understand that...

Now the key is to erase that from Gregs memory banks and have him understand complacency is not the way to go .....error somewhere in the middle. Don't panic but don't totally ignore either. Oh yes we will..Found the hubby another Nascar fan last night..He goes for Jeff Gordon..They talked most of the time we were out on the streets talking racing...LOL..He went to Taladaga in 99..Had free tickets at that..Said if he gets some this year and can't go he'll let us know..I sure hope so I'd like to go to a race just once....

Yes yall are and he did come back without them..Last night I wanted a guy to throw me some beads and he said show me some Boob..I raised Floyd's shirt and he threw me 2.....LOL....Go figure!!!!

Hang in there, Terry. I'm sure your dr will give you

something to help you sleep. It can be a tradeoff. I

tried a few things before I found one that worked for

me, either it didn't help me sleep, or I woke up still

groggy in the morning. But a little experimentation

and I came up with something. At least enough to get

by. I still did alot of midnite reading. -dz-

It was probably a year betweent the time I was

diagnosed with hcv and I started treatment. I was in a

critical time at work and felt I needed to postpone

until I had completed that. I guess what I'm trying to

say is that moving slowly is ok, as long as he doesn't

let himself stand still too long. I'm sure he's

scared. Once a person goes through the PCR and a liver

biopsy, then the dr can tell you more exactly what is

going on with your liver, then you can at least make

an informed decision, even if it is to forego the

treatment. -dz-

Good Morning Jan, I guess I'm lucky there is a track

here in Phoenix. I went to see the good old boys of

Nascar 12 year's in a row till I decidded it was

costing me to much money. I had a chose I could go to

the track or I could watch the race on TV & take a

trip to see my grandkids. That was a no brainer. The

grandkids won hands down.

The new meds helped I slept last night.

Hi Jan, I hope you have been enjoying Mardi Gras. I

use to thank I would like to go sometime. But now at

this time in my life I thank that there is to many

people there for me. Heck there is to many people

" 110,000 plus " out here at a nascar race for me. When

I retire in another 17 years I will be moving back to

a small " 3'000 to 5,000 town in MO.

Ok I went to the Dr today..He said my last viral load was good so I am going back on tx..I have to wait 4 weeks till the anti-depressant Paxil works first and then I'm trying again.Wish me luck everyone.....

Thanks for the prayers.. I did get to tal to the head honcho today and he was soooo confused by what the other Dr's told me what I could not do..He said he don't understand why they said that..He has me on Paxil for 4 weeks before tx and I get my muscle relaxers and valium..He saw I was in pain today when I went..I told him I understand you say the liver feels no pain but it sure is hurting everything around it..So for pain he told me to take Aleve...ALEVE? That never cured a headache of mine..Oh well those muscle relaxers sure are working though..I got a BIG smile on my face right now but I am so tired..He could see I was aggrevated too from all the pain but alot has to do with female trouble too I am going through..That will be seen about next month on the 6th I think..We will schedule surgery then..Now for that wish me luck....

They will cut the pill dosage by 1 pill a day..I don't know what difference that makes but that's what they are doing this time..My hubby asked if I could either take the pills or the shot and not both but the Dr said no it had to be the combo..That you could take just the shot but it would take alot longer..Oh well I got 4 weeks for my anti-depressants to work for me..Hopefully this time I can do it..I mean I had to try again knowing my last viral load after I took myself off of tx showed my enzyme level was good..3rd times a charm I always say..My whole right side is inflammed due to my liver..The Dr even said I was swollen..I just gave him the DUHHHHHH look like I didn't notice that myself..I just kept telling him please don't poke on my side..He said he had to I said well then don't hurt me ok..I felt like a kid but it was hurting bad yesterday..Then I got aggrevated..He asked hubby if I was always like that and he said no only when I don't feel good but that my nerves were always bad..Humm I told myself my nerves are bad because he is an alcoholic..He promised this time I am on tx he would straighten up..Time will tell..

Hi Jan

I know that you can make it this time. You already have an idea of what to expect. Having been through Interferon treatment the first time made the combo a little easier to tolerate for me.
