Guest guest
, my sister also has BC. 3 years ago was treated with surgery, chemo, and radiation. Now " something " is showing up on PET scan. It is behind her sternum (breast bone) and surgeons not sure how to even get a biopsy of it. Next Monday she goes in for biopsy/surgery as they try to cut cartilage from ribs and obtain specimen at that time. They think it may be in her lymph glands as sometime is also showing up under her right arm. One doctor trying to give her some hope but others not. Frustrating. Lots of tears. But I don't know that she would even try alternative treatment but I am trying to obtain infor in case she will. Guest guest
I just went through a similar thing. That is how they are. We were given some very bad news also and sometimes they make you feel like there is no hope. It had been 3 1/2 years since I had surgery, chemo and radiation. They did get a lung biopsy through interventional radiology. My mets is definitely BC. I have had 3 treatments of taxotere. Oncologist is very positive we can go into remission. I have a 1.7-cm lesion in my right upper lobe with involvement of the hilum and mediastinum (that is were the nerves and vessels go on and out of the body). If you need someone to talk to, I am here. Email is sharner@.... I am also a reach to recovery volunteer.
