Is Moi Protecting Aids`Cure`Doctor?

As official Kenya government interest in controlling the Aids pandemic has

risen, the spotlight has firmly turned to Basil Wainwright, better known as

``Dr Stone``, who claims that he has cure for HIV/AIDS. Stone’s Ozone

therapy has been rejected by medical practitioners who are working over time

to have him deported from the country. The controversy raises fundamental

questions about official commitment to controlling the Aids scourge.

Over the past one year, Dr Stone has been a mysterious and besieged man,

denounced by medical practitioners " sought " by police and publicly

castigated as a fraud for claiming he can cure Aids sufferers. But what

puzzles many observers is why despite the government declared a criminal for

practicing medicine without a valid certificate, " Dr Stone” continues to

operate clandestine clinics for Aids patients and appear at a significant

official public events. In April 18 Lurambi MP Dr Newton Kulundu charged

that Stone was practicing medicine illegally and administering the

prescribed Polyatomic Oxygen Therapy, but cannot be punished because he is

protected by the state house

State Minister Marsden Madoka said Kulundu should pose the question to the

Ministry of Health, but MPs contested the answer with Kulundu arguing that

all matters touching on STD, HIV & AIDS are now handled by the office of the

President

Evidently Dr Stone has deep connections in the establishment and is being

protected by some powerful people in the government. Yet there are others in

the same government who are frantically trying to deport him also for

reasons that have little to do with the professed national disaster that is

Aids

Stone has been dogged by controversy since he came to Kenya in July 1996

after being introduced to a congregation at Nairobi Pentecostal Church (NPC)

in an end time prophetic sermon by the Rev Barry from New Zealand

announced that a cure for Aids has been discovered but that the west

didn’t want it to be used in Africa He called doctors in the congregation

aside and told them of the benefits Kenya could get if it allowed the

inventor to practice in Kenya

Wainwright, alias Stone says he came in Kenya in July 1996 at the

invitation of the elders of (NPC) with the blessing of President Moi

Counseling psychologist Mrs. June Koinange says her husband, Koinange

took and Wainwright to state house where they met the president

Arap Moi who was impressed with the latter’s work. Moi it is said gave Stone

permission to go ahead with his plans to establish clinics in Kenya with the

thrust being cancer, AIDS, hypertension and kidney diseases. Mrs. Koinange

says the Director of Medical Services, Dr Mwanzia, was directed to

license Wainwright who set up a company, Polyatomic Apheresis. With

Koinange as the Manager Dr Lucy Gachare as the physician in charge assisted

by an American physician Rathna Alwa. It appears that the medics’ role was

to ``cover`` Wainwright who didn’t have a medical qualification. Stone was

to be the scientist-in-charge of production and utilization of Ozone and

Mrs. Koinange the chief counsellor of patients on the treatment before it

was administered on them.

Wainwright says the agreement collapsed because he was philanthropist who

wanted the church to meet the running costs while he treated patients free

of charge. He says the Koinanges insisted on charging patients SH10,000 per

visit to their Lifespring-Counseling Centre.

Mrs. Koinange she had taken a loan to set up a clinic, pay two Doctors and

three nurses, a secretary and a cleaner besides paying for Stone’s

accommodation in the hope that the money would be recovered through the

treatment fee. Prior to that Video-tracts Ministry, owned by the Koinanges

had brought Dr Brown (1989) and Derrick Prince (1992) to Kenya. A

year latter they brought in the Rev (1992 and 1996) who introduced

them to Wainwright.

We took Wainwright`s as a ministry to help the sick in Kenya. We thought we

could model it alongside the services provided by the PCEA in Kikuyu

hospital she says.

She said they invited Wainwright to Kenya that NPC where her husband was an

elder helped at one point The Rev Dennis White then the senior pastor at APC

says Wainwright did not come through NPC

The board did not approve of him I saw him only once in the service. He

later came to see me these were the only two times I was to see him. The

church didn’t bring him and we aren’t responsible for anything.

Clay brook introduced to expression today by Koinange as the

president of Polyatomic Apheresis Inc, says Wainwright was invited by

Christians to Kenya. Koinange says he is the one who invited him after

receiving some $180,000 from a Canadian, Cliff Ford. He says he was

confident of getting more money from the government as compensation for the

land it had taken from him in (1987). He hoped he could use this money in

his new partnership with Wainwright.

It wasn’t for selfish reason that I wrote Clay inviting Wainwright to Kenya

it goes without saying that Ozone works. Even my own doctor can testify on

this he said.

The Rev Maj. Caleb Gwambo of the Armed Forces says the then head of the

civil service, Fares Kuindwa had written to the special Branch urging

cooperation with Wainwright and directing the then Director of Medical

services, Dr Mwanzia to license him

While Kuindwa declined to comment on this story, Dr Mwanzia said he had not

licensed Wainwright as he was not a medical doctor ``He may have used

licensed doctors at a certain point when the first arrangement failed and he

then linked up with Dr Momanyi.

Told that we had been shown a letter of recommendation he had written for

Wainwright, he claimed it was forged

Whatever his origin was, the controversy surrounding Wainwright`s treatment

claims it curious considering the issue at stake: containing the Aids

menace. While the official policy is to mobilize all resources to combat

Aids. The handling of Wainwright, the validity of claims not withstanding

stinks of the usual dirty politics and power games. On the one hand are

dogmatic doctors who do not want to hear of Wainwright but will not go the

extra mile to establish the viability of his Ozone therapy. Why? On the

other hand patients who are desperately looking far relief, medical or

otherwise but are being denied access to the man they claim can satisfy

their need. Why?

Then there is Wainwright himself who insist his therapy has positive result

on HIV-infected challenging his critics to disprove him. Instead, his

clinics are being shut and his alleged past criminal record flashed to

persecute him Why? And who is fighting Wainwright and why?

Wainwright who is said to be working closely with Dr Tom Mboya Okeyo lead

national Aids Control Council of the office of the president says Koinange

never dealt with him but his partner Cliff Ford``He told him the government

of Kenya owed him US$2.5millions as composition for his land which the

government had taken and that they wanted him to pay a fee of sh6000,000,

which he was not willing to pay. He was the then commissioner of lands

Gachanja says.

But Koinange says this matter should not be drugged into the Ozone therapy

controversy.

I have no desire to embarrass anyone. I have given no bribe and this could

have been the reason why they are fighting me ``Wainwright says ``. After

disagreeing with the Koinanges, Wainwright was introduced to Dr Momanyi, a

former army major, by Maj Gwambo, a Lt. Col Mwambire and another State House

contact. He set up a clinic in Nairobi from where he treated patients from

as far away as Malawi, Canada, Australia and Western Samoa. Dr Momanyi and

Wainwright charged foreigners US$20,000 for a complete therapy package and

locals 10.000 per session of 30 min.

Wainwright also known as Dr Stone, befriended the Anglican Church through

Gwambo, A clergy of that denomination, and established clinics at Ran gala

in Nyanza and Langata in Nairobi. He had another two clinics in Masaba

Hospital at View park towers. He also sold polyatomic-administering machines

to several doctors according to Koinange and Caleb Gwambo, Wainwright’s

right hand man.

Koinange say they disagree with Wainwright for allegedly treating people at

night and collecting colossal sums of money behind his back; that he was

living with a woman who was not his wife and they were not Christians but

New Agers. There were attempts to smear Wainwright using the media and the

Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board (MPDB). Dr Barasa the then chairman

of MPDB confessed during the interview ``Wainwright had interested some

local doctors in Ozone and they have come up with impressive protocol for

administering it``. When the media smear campaign

failed Dr Stones detractors tried to deport him. However the Rev wrote

the president for intervention. Rev who insists Stones Ozone is cure

from God, Challenges Kenyan medical Authorities to test it.

What wainwright is doing is changing people’s lives. The Kenya Medical

Practitioners and Dentist Board should work closely with him instead of

condemning him, Rev said on the telephone from New Zealand. People are

dying and I don’t like it as Polyatomic Apheresis is a cure from God and we

should not deny people access to it. Kenya could be accused of killing its

citizens who die from Aids as the Medical authority lambastes Wainwright.

This technology works I saw it happen in Philippines where the Medical

authorities hounded Wainwright out of the country, He said I would like

president Moi to have Wainwrights technology tested instead of allowing

people to ignorantly blast a technology which has been used in the countries

like Germany and New Zealand for over 50yrs. Malawian Simion Mbobe was cured

of full blown Aids, this convinces me that ozone cures not only Aids, cancer

TB, Ebola Anthrax, Malaria but virtually every disease known to man; this is

certainly God’s answer to humankind.

The Rev adds AIDS was created in the US laboratory with the specific

aim of world population control. My investigation leads me to believe that 3

areas of the world have been targeted, Black Africa, the Hispanics and the

homosexuals, he says this was conceived by the Jimmy Cater administration.

The Small pox vaccination was brought to Africa and was laced with HIV

according to the London Times of May 11 1987 says the Rev , he

cautioned that it could be catastrophic if Kenya misses to utilize Ozone

Wainwright says the banning of his treatment is illegal and a personal

attack against him led by Prof Julius Meme the permanent secretary in the

Ministry of health, Dr Stone is outlawed he is a criminal he keeps locking

up his place to avoid being caught Prof Meme says. Last November Wainwright

was kicked out of Aids awareness symposium for members of parliament in

Mombasa by Prof Meme. He says he had been invited to the function by

senior Kanu and opposition politicians but that Prof Meme did not want him

there (some politician who declined to be named concurred).

Indeed it was one of the politicians who intervened recently when Wainwright

was about to be deported. Dr Muga, the Director of Medical services

says Ozone is outlawed in n Kenya the Legal Notice banning it was issued

under chapter 244 of the laws in Kenya.

There is no evidence Ozone works as Wainwright has never presented the

evidence to his science peers or show where he did the research and what his

findings were. We have instructed our people to arrest him if they find

treating anyone with Ozone says Dr Muga, our duty is to protect the public

against anyone taking advantage of their desperation to exploit them as

Stone is doing

Asked why the government has not arrested Wainwright the DMS pleaded,

please be fair to us we are doing our best. Wainwright contends the US

government is after him because of his classified information which links

the American government to the manufacture of the Aids Virus in order to

brutally check the population of Hispanic Blacks and American homosexuals.

Scharf spokesman for the US embassy in Nairobi says Wainwright and

his group are perpetuating the East German propaganda against America

Dr Leonard Horowiz whose Emerging Viruses AIDS and Ebola Nature Accident or

intentional book is being extensively quoted as proof that the US invented

HIV and AIDS, Schraf said he is not qualified to comment on aids, this is a

dentist involved in a conspiracy theory against the US, he says adding that

Wainwright was known as Dr Ozone in the Caribbean where he ran clinics for

treating Aids. A document that the USA invented Aids in a military

laboratory as a biological weapon was invented and perpetuated by the former

Soviet Union in 1983. Fringe group conspiracy theorists, the statement says,

picked up and embellished the dis-information

USA was responding to a letter which appeared in the in the People news

paper on October 29,1999 and which accused the US of having invented HIV as

a biological weapon.

Quoting the Russian newspaper Izvestia USA says, the then soviet foreign and

prime ministerYeygeni Primakov had admitted in a speech at Moscow State

University that the dis-informtion service of KBG concocted the false story.

USA criticizes Horowitz for un-critically embracing the soviet

dis-information and using it in his 1996 book four years after it had been

renounced

Horowitz claims that AIDS was created when a human leukemia virus, HTLV-1

was combined with its sheep counterpart, VISNA, this was raised by an east

German doctor Segal. The claims are untrue and scientifically

impossible Medical evidence indicates that Aids has been present in the

human population since about the 1940s, long before any sort genetic

manipulation was possible. In Feb 1998 it was reported that blood samples

from a man who died in 1959 in Leopoldville (Now in Kinshasa) shows he was

infected with Aids…. On Feb 1,1999 it was widely reported in the world press

that scientist had finally traced the origin of Aids virus to a subspecies

of chimpanzees in equatorial West Africa uncovering the evidence that the

virus seemed to have leaped the species barrier on at least three different

occasions

The statement concludes that HIV is a naturally occurring virus that first

appeared in humans long before the alleged genetic engineering was possible.
