Guest guest
My pharmacy called yesterday to say that Delatestryl has been discontinued. I was buying 200 mg in single dose vials. The pharmacist says the multi-dose vials have also been discontinued. My old online pharmacy confirms that the drug has been discontinued. My doctor is on vacation, and he's not an endocrinologist anyway. Neither pharmacist I talked with could suggest a substitute, but there must be one. I have one dose left. I would like to stay on injectables. I have tried other delivery systems, without success. Anybody out there ever switch from Delatestryl to some other injectable? What is the drug? Thanks Albuquerque, NM
Guest guest
Every time a new trt method comes out, the injectables mysteriously become " unavailable " for reasons unknown for a couple months and when it finally does come back the price has doubled. It happened when androderm came out (and that time, the generic injectable disappeared permanently, never came back, only the brand name is around now), then again with testoderm, then androgel, and now with testim. It's just a coincidence of course. Just a fluke. It's not like anyone is trying to coerce us into changing our medication habits. Too bad some of us cannot use gel or patch and injection is the only choice. Just too bad for you guys. That's if you're in the US. If you're in Canada, there is never a shortage and the price is as low as it ever was. Too bad Canada can't send it to us. This community ought to educate itself on that situation. It's not only the elderly who are getting shafted. > My pharmacy called yesterday to say that Delatestryl has been > discontinued. I was buying 200 mg in single dose vials. Guest guest
There is no substitute. Delatestryl is the only injectable. Now. Before the last so-called shortage (just a coincidence mind you, just because a new product like androderm or testim comes on market doesn't mean they are trying to coerce us to change habits), yeah, before the last mysterious shortage there was a generic injectable but that one never came back. It so happens this weekend (today) there is a conference for the klinefeltersyndrome folks in chicago. KS people take HRT so this is a **BIG** deal for us. I should have been at the conf and can't make it. So here's what I want you to do. I want you to call the hotel where they are having it, ask for one of the organizers, explain the situtation, and ask them to pass it along to the doctors. This is news they want to know. This is a dynamite discussion. And, they are well connected with the drug companies. Maybe they can get you a straight answer. The organization is AAKSIS ( " access " ) http://aaksis.org The conf is at the DoubeTree in Skokie going on right now. Call (847) 679-7000 and ask for Vaughn Hambley. If Vaughn can't be reached, then Ron StAubyn. Both of these guys known all about injectable testo. Both of them will want to check this out and see what can be done. If neither can be reached leave your number with both for a call back. Let me know how it works out. regards david drexler > My pharmacy called yesterday to say that Delatestryl has been > discontinued. I was buying 200 mg in single dose vials.
