Guest guest
Hi Phil Yes, my GP used to use a thick 1.5 " needle to draw up and a finer 1.25 " one to inject. I use 2 needles of the same type and size. On to draw up the oily T (it's in castor oil) and then another dry needle to inject. This is only for the oily T injection. If I jab it hard enough and my leg muscle is relaxed I do not feel even discomfort and sometimes not even any sign of the jab. If I am half-hearted then it can start to hurt and IO then find it better to withdraw and start again. I have a bath before the injection to soften the muscle and have the muscle warm. I do not use alcohol as a wipe. The practice nurse said they found as long as the skin is newly cleaned then all is OK. As to the blood vessels: I always try to withdraw a little after the full push into the muscle as taught initially. I have only once since December 1995 gone right into a blood vessel and stopped. I had a sensation that it was not muscle and the tip of the needle seemed less rigid. I withdraw the needle and there was blood which quickly stopped by pressing on it with a towel. My GP said every 20-30 times you will hit something so I have been lucky but as I am giving myself the injection rather than different patient after different patient I am getting used to where it is ok on my to drive the needle. I alternate legs and use the same small area of leg muscle. Not sure if it was you but one guy said he was not able to get to his bottom. That why I use the front to side leg. No real problems. Thanks for the question _________________________________________ Randle Re: Test results - Phil > > >> >> You know she likes kicking my ass you would think she would like sticking >> it. :-(.
