Guest guest
Thanks all for the comments. First, I'm not going to be in a big hurry. To err on the side of caution, is probably best in all things medical. I go see the PDOC, who put me on ADs to begin with, in a couple weeks. I've already broached the subject of Testosterone with him and I will discuss it some more. This is one of those HMO cases where I have a PCP,PDOC and ENDO all involved. The PCP will go with whatever the PDOC and ENDO recommend. With a little prodding from the PDOC, the ENDO may agree to a trial. I can point lots of evidence that T is beneficial to depressed men, even those who don't test low. The prudent thing to do is to see some more test results. I'd like to test it, once a month for a few more, just to see if there is a trend. My first test was 285, second 343...still fairly low. If it pops up to 500 in a month, I'll know it's not the problem.(I'll probably feel better also.) I'll wait a while and see if my HMO does anything. If they do not seem amicable to a trial, I'll take my test results to other docs. I'm guessing, sooner or later, I'll find one who's sympathetic. If I can't do that, I'm pretty sure I can wear myself out enough to " fail " the test.. But right now, I just need to have patience.
