Dr Visit-Grrrrr

Okay, it took 3 wks to get into talk to the dr for 10 min. He said " I

see you want TRT. I see that your levels are in the normal range,

altho low normal " . He asked hubby what he wanted, and Hub said " I

think further testing is in order to see what I need " . To make a long

story shorter, we walked out w/ a 3 month trial for 5gm Androgel 1x

daily and a script for bloodwork. The bloodwork is for PSA, normal

metabolic screens and ANOTHER total Testosterone. WTF!! Hubby says

hey, we got the opportunity to try the Androgel at least and can see

how it goes from how I respond as to new doc or him. I guess my

frustration is in how we were treated as almost a pain in the ass with

our assumptions of knowledge or desire for inclusion in this process.

He is definately not a 'partner in health' doctor.

Hub goes off to work, I go off to fill the script.

Pharmacy 1 " No, we don't have any,but will order for you and have it

by Monday. Another pharmacy might fill it for you with what they have

and 'owe' you the rest "

Pharmacy 2 " No we don't have enough to fill the 90, we can fill 1

month but that will negate the other two months and you will have to

see your doctor to get a new script. Controlled substance and all "

Pharmacy 3 " No, we don't have enough to fill the 90 but can have it

for you by Wednesday. "

Pharmacy 4 " No, we don't have enough to fill the 90 but can fill 1 mo.... "

Rather than try Walmart, I went back to the doctors to get a 1 month

script for the %$#@^* stuff. The doctors office looked for some

samples, but apparently " Pam " took them all home and all they had were

Placebos (huh???? scary statement). They called and low and behold,

Walmart had 90. YIPPEEEE!!..oh wait, there's more

Get to Walmart, land of the Christmas frenzy of returns, wait at

the pharmacy in line for 1/2 hour only to be told that MY INSURANCE

COMPANY won't allow them to fill more than one month so I will have to

go back to the doctors office anyway,ugh....

After asking if they had any free samples of Valium, I left with a

headache wondering if the quest for sex... good sex.... frequent,good

sex (along w/ the bone preservation, muscle mass, energy, mood/mind

uplift) was worth it. <chuckle> Why does it all have to be such a

struggle, its not like any of us are looking for the holy grail, just

some 'normalacy'.

Ok, so we got the little foil 5gm pkts, 1 a day and we will see

what happens.

Kay, who is going for the mocha almond fudge icecream (medicating)

new member kay wrote..Hubby has a urolgist that is as his staff told

me " Convervative " with his treatment recommendations. Hubby's only

test was a Total Testosterone level in the " low normal " of 226ng/dl.
