Guest guest
I know TRT can cause bloating, but I haven't seen anything to suggest this, maybe someone here can comment. Being too lazy to shave my arms and chest to free up enough hairless areas to evenly apply Androgel, I started applying some to my neck (gotta shave it anyways) and to the shaft of my penis (Shippin recommendation?). I put most on the hairless parts of my upper arms, but thought the necks thinner skin, maybe better absorbtion there anyways. I've started noticing bloating in both areas. Is localized bloating a normal reaction? Could that be why the manufacturer's literature says to not apply to the penis? The bloating's considereable, my neck circumference (collar size) has gone up at least a half-inch, if not a full-inch in two months, and the bottom-side of my penis (the more " fleshy " part) has ballooned up to a " puffy " state that's almost as large as it is when I have an erection, but just soft and puffy. My overall weight has remained high, but stable; though I do feel more jiggly in several areas. Strangeness, overall, but I'm wondering if I should discontinue application to those areas, or if this is just coincidence? Any thoughts appreciated. Guest guest
Sounds to me like you are not a good candidate for Androgel. I recommend weekly T-Cyp injections, or even better, pellet therapy. Guest guest
If you're swelling at the application sites you probably are alergic or sensitive the the alcohol in the Androgel. I would try Testim, pellets, or injections as an alternative. Swelling is not a normal or desirable reaction. Guest guest
There's only swelling at the neck and penis, and I'm not 100% sure the neck isn't just weight gain in general (other than the fact my body weight overall is stable). I guess the true test is to just limit the application to my arms, which if swelling, aren't noticeable. I'll mention it to my doctor next month. This guy's fairly fresh from medical school and has seemed well educated on other issues I've had over the last few years, but he prescribed Androgel (which I wanted) with no tests other than Total and Free Testosterone. Reading here I see many others he should have (prolactin, Estrogens) done as well. I don't want to have to educate the doctor, so I need to look for one who really knows his stuff in Los Angeles. I sure would like pellets, but I haven't easily located a doctor in my area of Los Angeles who does them for men. Re: Androgel causes localized bloating? Guest guest
Hi, Been on TRT for mor than 10 years and am aware there are some skin effects and maybe edema in my ankles. Friends have very wrinkled skin on their arms/elbows that I don't have. My waddle under my skin was very thin at 61 when I started TRT and filled out more after starting. No at 72 I think I look younger than that and my voice doesn't sound like I'm older. That could be an effect of water in my vocal cords maybe. ernestnolan > I know TRT can cause bloating, but I haven't seen anything to suggest this, > maybe someone here can comment. > > Being too lazy to shave my arms and chest to free up enough hairless areas > to evenly apply Androgel, I started applying some to my neck (gotta shave it > anyways) and to the shaft of my penis (Shippin recommendation?).
