Guest guest
Tony did the Dr. tell you that your testis are not working you need to find out. One way would be to have your Dr. give you Hcg and see if you levels go up. One of the guys here posted a test that a Dr. does by doing this and if I remember right if your levels go up say 50% or higher your testis are working. Here is a cut & paste of a post from one of the guys that is on both androGel and he says it keeps his testis working. Guys have posted that were on TRT for a long time and went on Hcg to see if they could get there testis working again and it worked. But they were secondary and the Dr. never checked to see why they had low T. If you feel good and want to see if your testis will come back then go for it. I do know men that have Low T from drinking but how do you prove it. Here is the cut & paste I will do some searching to see if I can find anything about Low T and to much drinking. If you testicles are capible of making T then it will raise your levels. My total T was 212 (range 260-1000) on 1 pkg androgel/day, did the hcG test as described in the AACE guidelines and my levels jumpped to 1633. I now do 500 IUs 3x/week will get another test in 3 weeks to see what it has stablized at. Still using the androgel until I get new numbers. FYI, my testicles have regained most of the cm that they had lost while on androgel alone. The thing on your pituitary, I have no advice there other than talk to your DR. And that the hcG directly stimulates the testicles. The sub q injections are ez and I usually hate shots. Best of Luck, Bob dkrzyzek <dkrzyzek@...> wrote: Hi Tony Androgel suppresses T production. When your body is taking in external T, the pituitary recognizes this and lowers production of LH/FSH, which lowers natural T production. Your testes may shrink over time from using androgel. When you stop using androgel, your body may/may not recover depending on age and other factors. It usually does but it takes time for natural T production to kick back in. You should explore HCG, maybe take the HCG/Clomid stimulation test that people here talk about. That way you'll know if it's a testes or pituitary problem. Be patient! Seems like you're making impulsive decisions based on all the conflicting articles you're reading (I get this impression because you put androgel on, only to wash it off an hour later). It's such an underresearched topic, that you're going to find conflicting reports on TRT everywhere. It's frustrating, but you need to be patient if you want to be treated properly. I've had symptoms for 9 months and still haven't been treated (though that will change this friday) so I know how you feel. Also keep in mind that plenty of people on this board use androgel with adequete results. But I understand you want to get the testes going again.
