Guest guest
I've been having hair analysis done every six months which gives levels of about 20 critical vitamins and minerals, ratios and heavy metals. The company I use is called *Trace Elements Inc* located in TX. I dont have their phone number handy but you can google up the website. I think it was this newsgroup (maybe I'm wrong about the newsgroup) where someone asked how do you tell if you are high metabolism or low? The hair analysis can determine this. Also, the tests can tell if you are hypo/hyper adrenal and thryroid among many other things. All from hair! In my expereince, I found that some of vitamin suppliments I was taking were hurting me, not helping me. A good example is coral calcium. It's promoted as an oxygen ehancer in the blood to give more energy adn increase libido, etc. What they dont tell you about the suppliment is; if your calcium is already ok, taking a calcium suppliment will send your potassium ratio down to nothing. When I did my first hair analysis, my potassium was nil and at the time I had some problems like irregular heartbeat, slow metabolism (previouly fast) and reduced energy. I stopped taking the coral calcium and 6 months later my calcium levels wer back down to normal and my potassium was back up to normal. I wouldn't have know about this without the hair test! We as ED sufferers are always grasping for anything that we thisnk might help out of desperation. We tend to buy into any claim about suppliments helping us. It was throgh the hair annalysis that I learned suppliments aren't good for you if you're getting to much of one thing. SO, to sum this up. I have to say, hair analysis was one of the best things I've done for myself and one of the cheaper, too. It's approx $65 dollars for the test and you get a 10 page report explaining everything in lamens terms. In my opinion, everyone in this forum could benefit from hair analysis. Oh yeah, one more thing the hair analysis showed me was I have high cadmium and tungsten levels. I spent 18 years in the HVAC business and was around a lot of welding/brazing. I'm amazed that the fumes could accumulate in my system then be picked up through a hair sample years later! > > > How do they test for zinc levels? I assume a blood test?
