Guest guest
I have tried to get my doctor (GP) to have tests run on me for T & E2 to try to find a solution to: (1) my inability to lose weight, and (2) my type 1 diabetes related ED. I started this process 07 April, 2004 and have provided him with lots of the materials from this site, messages relating to these problems, etc. This morning, after my last message to him confirming that our group insurance policy had finally confirmed to me that they would pay for the tests, I got the following message from him: " Lee, as I mentioned earlier, I have no interest in doing tests that I cannot interpret. I have no knowledge (or interest in obtaining any information) about these tests. I am sorry to be so blunt but a lot of things in medicine are fringe issues and I consider this to be fringe medicine. I hope this clarifies the situation from our point of view. " So my question at this point is: Do I need a new Doctor, or What? The obvious answer is Yes! But should I go to a Uroligist or an Endocrinologist? In searching for a new Dr. in our insurance plan, I find very few of either specialty that are anywhere close to where we live (in the Ahwatukee suburb of Phoenix, AZ); the nearest ones seem to be either in north sdale, on the west side, or in the center of downtown Phoenix, all of which I deem to be geographically undesireable (in terms of driving). So, to my brothers that live in the Phoenix area, can you give me suggestions of Doctors in either of these fields that may be willing to take new patients? Thanks for any advice or suggestions you may have. Lee Type 1 diabetic for last 56 of 60 years, minimal complications 230 lbs. and should be 180 (and never able to get below 218.5)
Guest guest
Hi Lee, I assume you've had at least total T tested somewhere along the line. For a TRT doc, try asking the people you met at Mixtures Pharmacy in Phoenix. Chances are they know someone nearby, who you can cross-reference with your insurance. It will probably be hard to find a uro or endo who is good at TRT. One would think those specialties would know about male hormones, but that's often not the case. It is worth a try. It would be nice to find a knowledgeable endo, who would also know about diabetes. A urologist would be best if dealing with the " plumbing " issues of ED. Oh, and I to am trying to get down from 218.5 lbs. Maybe to 217.5..... Guest guest
If you have not done so, dig around in the web links/files section in this group. Here is a link " from the files section " that might help you find a doc, it helped me after my 1 year search. http://www.lef.org/doctors/directoryofdoctors03.html Nickso > > I have tried to get my doctor (GP) to have tests run on me for T & E2 > to try to find a solution to: (1) my inability to lose weight, and (2) > my type 1 diabetes related ED. > > I started this process 07 April, 2004 and have provided him with lots > of the materials from this site, messages relating to these problems, > etc. This morning, after my last message to him confirming that our > group insurance policy had finally confirmed to me that they would > pay for the tests, I got the following message from him: > > " Lee, as I mentioned earlier, I have no interest in doing tests that > I cannot interpret. Guest guest
Hi Bill, Short answer: your breast growth and very sensitive nipples can be expected to continue unless you do something to lower your estrogens (especially estradiol).
