Guest guest
Need Help, I'm ignorant about a possible relationship between high bp and low T but I can make a couple of suggestions for managaing high bp. A member of Alt-Support-Impotence-ASI/ Introduced us to Maca. The Maca plant is indigenous to Peru and Peruvians may consume large amounts of Maca/day. http://health.discovery.com/centers/sex/libido/maca.html At ASI, in closed poll section, there's a poll on Maca's improving erectile function in men. I order a pound of Maca from http://www.rain-tree.com/maca.htm And a kilo from http://www.ahealthya.com/free_sample.htm From this site From this site http://ahealthya.com/peruvian_aphrodisiac.htm " Historical or Traditional Use: Maca's history as a powerful strength and stamina enhancer and libido-fertility herb stretches back well over five hundred years. Maca is a powerful adaptogen, which means it has the ability to balance and stabilize the body's systems. Maca can raise low blood pressure and lower high blood pressure " I began taking four grams Maca/day on March 6th '03. Bulk Maca powder if very easy to use...it will blend well into various media. I found mixing four grams in small amount of apple sauce was easiest way for me to consume Maca. My blood pressure has never been an issue, but in past couple of years my reading have been approaching " borderline " status. My PCP's techs/nurses are always so busy, I hate to ask them to go back in time through my chart to collect my b/p values, but I'm going to pursue that after first of year, as I would like to have a few more pre-Maca readings. My readings: Dates 12-20-02 7-1-03 9-5-05 10-10-03 10-27-03 146/88 130/72 130/78 118/65 140/92 Clearly after beginning Maca March 6th, the following three readings of my b/p had fallen. Several other men at ASI that began using Maca regularly also reported lowering of their b/p. The reading of 140/92 on 10-27-03 may reflect that my Maca use had been irregular. This might suggest that to maintain b/p in a desireable range, regular/daily use of Maca is necessary. Rather than resume Maca now.I'm going to wait until after seeing my GP in next week..so that I have another baseline reading. Another non Rx approach for managing b/p is L-Arginine (LA)! I highly recommend the scholarly book The Arginine Solution Fried, Ph.D. and Woodson C. Merrell, M.D., Warner Books, 1999. I bought my first copy at http://www.amazon.com/ and paid S & H charges. Couple years later I wanted to give b/f copy so I ordered from local bookseller. LA is very much involved with cardiovascular system. Further LA is precursor for nitric oxide (NO) the gas that causes penile erections. Titles of several chapters cogent to this subject: Chapter 7: Pressure drop The natural way to lower high blood pressure Chapter 8: Of ADNO, CAD and Athero Heart health and plaque prevention Chapter 9: When Hearts Under Pressure Swell The ADNO Rx for Preventing Disaster Chapter 10: Hitchhikers and Sticky Blood How ADNO Clears your Circulatory Highway I was asked by a member of ASI recently how much LA to take for managing b/p. I consulted The Arginine Solution..From Chapter 7: Pressure Drop.Page 83 " In addition to-and sometimes instead of-prescription pharmaceuticals, oral arginine supplementation has been shown to be a safe and effective way for you to get your blood pressure down if it's elevated, or to keep it down if it's still within normal limits. You and your doctor will need to keep in mind that it can take several weeks for arginine to effect a measurable drop in blood pressure. We've had success treating patients with a starter dosage of one gram taken three times a day, eventually increasing this to two grams three times a day if the lower dose fails to produce enough of a drop. " Myself, I use LA for getting my dick hard for cybersex with one or more male partners. An hour before planning to visit a cyber site, and preferably on an empty stomach, I mix five grams LA with a small amount of apple or cranapple juice. That will give me good erections for wanking and tossing off. When possible, I always buy bulk. I'm now working on my seventh LA kilo from http://kilosports.com/... Just my experiences.
