my adivce: don't bother. there are way better, more effective, and

less expensive methods of TRT.

What do you think about Androderm patches? My doc wants to put me on

those. Judging from the info on this site, Androgel is a better

choice (and same cost) and Testim is better yet. I compared prices

Softy,

I tried them for a couple of years. In my case I couldn't get serum

T above 273 ng/dL Others seem to have had better results. I did

slightly better on Androgel, 344 ng/dL using 2 packets/day (not

cheap!).

I hope yout doc plans to include E2 to labwork, & be willing to do

something if it gets too high.

Androderm converts less to E2.

Androderm patches didn't work at all for me - my recent level of 117

total T was while on androderm. Neither did androgel. But from what

I understand they are effective for most men. My body is just

difficult :) Either I have a problem absorbing through the skin, or

my liver metabolized it.

Phil (and others),

Do you find the testim scrotal patches easier or harder than the

shots? More effective or less effective?

Also, since I'm planning on starting HCG in a couple months, do I

need to be concerned about the testosterone going directly through

the scrotum and hurting potential fertility?

Thanks!

Doesn't matter where or how you get TRT, you will become infertile

with consistent use.

Your options are: 1) get sperm frozen now. (talk to your doc about

this option)

2) take HCG instead, or in addition to, TRT

Armyguy,

Right now the plan is to take TRT shots for a couple months and then

start the HCG. Considering that I've had no luck with the patches or

gels, I think the scrotal patches will probably be a waste of time

too.

Thanks,
