Try to keeo it there. You are rights the E2 is high from the great jump. Some studies show E2 rises at the same rate Total T does. I suggest talk with your DR. about prescription anti-aromatose meds. Hormones are very tough to control, even for the doctors. Doing it yourself could produce results you don't want. As to your next injection, I again suggest you follow your Dr. instructions. Then get him/her to prescribe the anti-aromatose meds. For reference, my Total T went from 160 to 230 on 2.5 gm androgel. E2 was not measured since Dr. not aware of aromatizatuion. Will have more tests in about 2 weeks. Ridge
Guest guest
Hi LaVonne, Great to hear that things are getting on track. 200mg every two weeks will be much, much more effective for your husband than once a month. Eventually, if he notices a rollercoaster type emotional effect, he might want to consider 100mg shots every week. T level looks good. You should stick with the once every 2 weeks routine, no reason to go any less than that (as you suggested at the end of the email). Great to hear of improvement of sex drive and secondary male characteristics.. now for mood. Just have to drop that e2 into a normal range. To do that you will need to add a new tool to the arsenal. The only thing that will be truly effective in lowering estradiol level is Arimidex or Aromasin. Either of those will work well. They are a prescription drug, originally designed to lower estradiol levels in woman with breast cancer. They lower estradiol levels in men to a very high amount, so you end up taking less than 1 pill a day (you have to cut the pill up). If you are able to get a prescription, 1/2 pill of arimidex every other day is a good starting point and should have a good effect at lowering estradiol. After a few weeks on that routine, get blood level checked and see where estradiol is at. The other dosing option is 1/2 pill every day. Either one is fine to start with, just get blood level checked and then adjust from there. The only thing you have to watch out for is lowering estradiol too much. Men need a certain amount of estradiol, so if you lower it too much, then the same negative, low testosterone type of effects will occur. Just stay within the normal range, aim for about 30 estradiol level or so. Cheers and congratulations on doing something about it, Armyguy > Hi, > > I'm LaVonne and my husband is Kent. Guest guest
Hi LaVonne, Does your husband experience mood swings on the every other week shots, i.e. does he feel good the first couple of days after the shot and then it tapers down until the next shot? A lot of TRT doctors are recommending 100mg every week instead of 200 EOW. Regarding anti-aromatase drugs, that is a an option, it does appear that you husband does have some high E2. From what I understand gels and patches are better than shots at preventing conversion to E. Also, there are over the counter supplements that may counter conversion to E, such as zinc, DIM, I3C. There are people in the group who are much more up to speed that I am on the anti E's, so I will let them chime in. Good Luck > Hi, > > I'm LaVonne and my husband is Kent.
