Pam & ,

I have carpal tunnel in one wrist and have had surgery in the other wrist for it. I am also an artist and I have the same problem as you Pam--my fingers get so stiff and cramp and I can't hold a pencil or brush. Last time I went to my rheumy, he prescribed a rub-in gel for my hands and fingers called Voltaren. It's the first thing to provide any relief at all for these problems. As with anything, I suppose just because it works for me doesn't mean it would work for you, but it's worth taking a chance if you haven't already tried it.

Pam

That's really great ! You & Your Son sound a lot like me & my Son! I don't know what I would ever do without him! And I tell him all the time as well. It is so hard going from what we used to be & what we are now. I can remember loving to cook, experimenting to make my own unique creations haha! They all were usually good haha! And I've been a artist all my life! It is so hard to come to grips,at times, that I wont be able to draw, sketch, etc...that day, because I can barely move my fingers or they cramp up so bad when I try and do detailed things. But it feels so good to be understood! For Once! Thank God for You All! Take care,Pam.S

Thanks so much, Pam...have two appts this weeks with my docs and will ask them about it. Can't hurt to try it. I use Gel scripts for my body and face and the sensitivities. It's a compound Gel that is mixed up specifically for the person. I wonder if this is similar. Anyway, thanks again. Hugs H.

When I cook it is simple or crock pot stuff.I use to cook allot nd won blue ribbons for my chili and fudge. Now it is like tossed salad, chicken and dumplings and steamed veggies. Last week i made chili in crock pot forgot chili powder to add it in for the stuff in the envelopes has MSG in it.Also once with chicken and dumplings with the dumplings forgot to add the salt. so yes it is simple things with me too. My hubby cooks too even helps does the dishes when i cook.Like tonight chicken nuked up mashed sweet potatoes and some steamed veggies. But i do simple things now mainly crock pot things or tossed salads too. I do make spaghetti and meat balls too.I got everything for my imitation crab meat soup except forgot he cornstarch so get the cornstarch later on this next week. but yes I think we all have been in your shoes.I do a shopping list on an envelope and put coupons in there since

we shop once a month. I try to remembe to look through the coupons too and go from there. Ss donot worry we all are normal and have done it nad will probably keep doing it too.Thank your son for being so helpful to you. hugs heidi

Most likely the pain in the fingers is caused by arthritis. I have this. In fact have deformity started in the joint of the first 2 fingers of the left hand. I also have arthritis in the thumb joint, in bone called the trapezius. It is very very important that all pains are just wrote off to Fibro. Fibro is NOT the only painful condition that we can get, ESP as we age. Sandie -- Re: H.dominie Date: Sunday, November 9, 2008, 6:18 AM That's really great ! I do have one finger that has started getting crooked, but every doctor who has looked at it says it's not arthritis and that I don't have any signs of arthritis. I have always had a positive RA factor, however, this does not mean I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I've seen so many Rheumy's and they all say the same thing. It's not uncommon for my ANA to be positive either. What hurts the worst are the thumbs like where you open your thumb...it may be from the carpal tunnel, but of course, I don't know.

Thanks for letting me know. Hugs H.

, they may be thinking RA, If it is in the first joint of the finger it is most likely osteoarthritis. Have the Drs mentioned possibility of Lupus?? -- Re: H.dominie@groups .comDate: Sunday, November 9, 2008, 6:18 AM That's really great ! You & Your Son sound a lot like me & my Son!
