Chronic sinus infection

Hi list,

I finally found something that satisfactorily controls chronic sinus

infection and mucus/congestion/post nasal drip (CONTROLS, not

eliminates... only the cleanses and dental clean-ups will cure it).

I bought a Grossan nasal irrigator a few weeks ago (a Water Pik

attachment for sinus cleansing), and began using it with normal saline

solution. After a couple of days, I could breathe almost normally,

and did not need sinus spray at night. This was ok, and I was pleased

with the results, but then I found some stuff called ALKALOL. It

comes in a 16 oz. bottle from Wal-Mart. Only 3.50 a bottle. They

don't carry it on the shelf, but if you ask the pharmacist to order

some, they'll have it the next day. This stuff is amazing... The label

says it is a " mucus solvent " . It literally liquifies the gunk in the

sinuses so it can be expelled easily. I put it in my nasal irrigator

solution, but it can also be used in a neti pot or a small squirt

bottle to irrigate the sinuses. The label says to use it full

strength, or dilute by half with saline, but I found this to be way

too strong. I use about 1/4 cup per 1 qt. saline, and I can breathe

clearly and easily every day I use it. If I skip 2 days, I have

problems. Hope this helps someone else.

  • 9 years later...

I had " chronic " but it's funny, though I took pills for years that chased it

away it always came back. But..using the godzilla device, at least for me,

removed it permanently at least 7 years ago, and not a peep from it since. I

think certain germs live in sinuses and survive attacks. But electricity seemed

to get all of mine, it just has never returned, though I had it for at least 20

years prior. The dc current of godzilla should not be a problem for the eyes

since there is no pulsation to cause distracting flashes. There is therapy that

uses flashes from electricity to stimulate the optic nerve. Used to the small

amount of time needed to clean out sinuses, unless someone reports problems and

nobody has, should be ok, but YMMV.

damp wash cloth and see what it reveals! Most AC and heating vents are

contaminated.

My friend asked "How long for each application of godzilla? How many days if used once per day? Exactly where should the pads be placed?

I also suspect there are molds in environment that are possible to trigger the sinus infection? Any good air purify device suggest to be used? Thanks. Helen

use the device called godzilla, just make one. use it on cheeks, up against the

nose. sponges should be wet but not soaking, wet thoroughly and wring them.

use for 20 minute sessions, reversing the position of the sponges left to right

every 5 minutes. do this about twice a day. take hot shower with face in the

water to help clean out sinuses, as this should create a lot of dieoffs. Expect

about a week of this. You may also note that teeth are really clean and

smoother since it will dive into the mouth and kill germs there, too. so you

could get some or all of the plaque removed from teeth--free!

dont' bother with the air filters and other stuff, it never really helped me

much, nothing did till I hit it with godzilla.

I can't assure that this is safe or effective since there's no FDA approval on

it.. as everyone, you are responsible.

bG ... you mean the " godrods " right?  2 C or D batteries in series?  I thought the godzilla was the 6V lattern battery. ... Just want to make sure we are all talking about the same thing.  The " godrod " ... ie ... 2 C batteries in series are what I have been using with great success.

you can use either one. I like the godzilla 6 volts, as shown in the group's

main page. The time to use the godrods is when the 6 volts is too harsh, or if

someone is afraid of the 6 volts, or can't get that type of battery. Either one

should work, but if you use godrods, use them with opposite polarities on the

area, eg: one positive on the skin the other negative on the skin. godrods

need to touch the palms and they pass current through the hands to make contact

complete.

For sinus, I think the 6 volt is going to work faster but that's just my

experience with it. :)
