Just wanted to make you all aware of a " drug interaction checker " I

found. It's at http://www.drugstore.com/pharmacy/drugchecker/default.asp

I felt really weird after taking the zoloft yesterday and found out

here that it can interact with lamictal, another drug I am on for

CFS-related neurological problems. I'm not giving up the lamictal -

it has helped me too much.

But perhaps more interesting to this group, I also did a lookup on

wellbutrin (another common anti-depressant) and found that when used

in conjunction with testosterone it can cause seizures.

I am going to run this check on any new drugs my docs suggest. They

all said that zoloft didn't interact with any of the drugs I am on.

I am going to give the t-shots more time to work on my mood. My mood

seems to be trending up since my last shot (my second one). Hopefully

I will continue to get incremental improvment. I guess this goes

along with the statement in the AACE guidelines that it can take up to

4 years to achieve " full virilization " with TRT.

Nice catch, Mark.

I'm just adding Wellbutrin again. I was on it before while also on TRT, and had

no problems. I'll check in with my pshrink and PCP. I too am on Lamictal, but

as a mood stabilizer. It was originally introduced as an anti-seizure med, and

thus may reduce the chances of a bad reaction to the testosterone-Wellbutrin

combo.

Best,

Bruce

Bruce,

Yeah, I'd say check with your doc. You might also want to check the

website itself. Just add in all your meds and it will tell you the

possible interactions. I don't think it was a definite that the combo

would cause seizures, just a possibility.
