Guest guest
Here's a thought.try getting a second test. 800 to 2200 is rather radical. I'd ask for a second blood test before you stop treatment using the dosage you are on now. Todd Total T went through the roof! I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. My T level has skyrockedted to 2257! (300 - 1000) Here's the brief history: Feb 03 - T = 189 Started Androgel 1 pkt per day May 03 - T = 459 Increased to 2 pkts per day Aug 03 - T = 852 Uro happy, continue 2 per day Nov 03 - T = 2257 Back down to 1 pkt per day starting today Doc had no inkling as to what may have caused the huge increase in T. One thing I've changed in the last 3 months is that when I apply the Androgel in addition to my abdomen I also rub it on one arm and shoulder and on my groin and genitals (only stings a little sometimes). I also added 4mg Cu to the 100mg of Zn I take everyday. Any thoughts? Don PS: This group and the ASI groups are great resources. I've learned alot since I started reading them last summer. Guest guest
Don, did you notice a difference in how you feel? I was told that when you get into the " super " range, you may lose some of the " well being " that you experience when in " upper normal " . Certain bodybuilders have experienced this when using huge doses of steroids. > I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. My T level has > skyrockedted to 2257! Guest guest
Perhaps they drew the blood from the arm you used to apply the Anrogel? Or perhaps there was some AGEL near the site of the stick? I've seen this before, and would advise another test. This time, make sure they don't draw blood from the arm you used to spread the gel. With levels that high you should feel like bloody hell and be a raging sex maniac!! > I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. My T level has > skyrockedted to 2257! Guest guest
Here's a thought, if you feel good at the level your at, don't worry about it. Continue doing what you're doing. It doesn't matter what the blood test says AS LONG AS you feel good. Just make sure you keep an eye on your blood levels at the same time. > I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. Guest guest
I've heard this as well. Supposedly, if you rub the gel on the arm or/and with the arm they are drawing blood from, testosterone can be highly concentrated in the place where they take the blood from. I agree that you should consider another test, and before this one, use a plastic glove when applying the androgel and avoid rubbing it on the arm they are going to draw blood from, then you should get a real result. Curious, exactly how are you feeling nowadays?? > > I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. My T level has > > skyrockedted to 2257! Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the replies. I think I will get retested. The blood was drawn from the arm that the gel is applied to. They usually use the other arm. In general I've been feeling good. Libido has been in the hyper range, but libido wasn't an issue when my T was low. Lot of strong night time erections. In recent weeks I was also getting them during the day at work. Some of this may be related to my starting to take 10mg Apcalis 3 or 4 times a week for ED. (Apcalis is an Indian Cialis generic.) Thanks again. > > > I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. My T level has > > > skyrockedted to 2257! Guest guest
This might explain my last blood test too.. it was 740, which is about 350 points higher than it ever had been. I didnt feel like it was high (still had lots of the low T symptoms like low sex drive) Is there any documentation anywhere so I could show my endo? So if I had them draw blood someplace else, it would be more accurate? > > > I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. My T level has > > > skyrockedted to 2257! Guest guest
I don't know that there is any documentation on this. The problem might also be that your estradiol is a little high. You should get this checked in conjuction with your testosterone level. > > > > I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. My T level has > > > > skyrockedted to 2257! Guest guest
I've asked my endo about getting my estradiol tested, and he pretty much brushed it off, saying I was fine. (although I havent had it tested). Should I insist on having it with my next lab? What are the 'symptoms' of high estradiol? > > > > > I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. Guest guest
That depends if you are t thearapy or not. If you are on t therapy, some of the symptoms are fairly obvious: hard, sensitive nipples and not feeling the benefits of t therapy as much as you can be. Symptoms of to high of estradiol: Fat deposits around hips, ass, breast area. " bitch tits " Hmmm, I think that allot of the others are pretty much the same symptoms of Low Testosterone. If you are on T replacement, Estradiol can be a problem even if you don't have these fat deposits or gynomastia <sp?>. My estradiol was too high when I didn't have any of the fat deposit symptoms, just didn't feel 100%. The only way to know for sure is to get it checked. > > > > > > I had my 3mo. check up with my uro yesterday. My T level > has > > > > > > skyrockedted to 2257!
