Guest guest
I really need some advice, because I'm not getting much from my lame excuse for a doctor. I used androgel for about a month and didn't feel or function any different. Blood tests showed that my T level had increased only a little, and the doctor wanted to increase the androgel by a small amount, try it for another month, have blood tests again, and repeat as necessary. I figured that could take months and would probably not be successful as it appears I don't absorb androgel well, so I asked to be switched to injections. I've had one injection so far, and will be doing them once per week. Is it realistic to expect an immediate effect with injections? My understanding is that T reaches it's peak level within a few days after the shot. I had the shot 5 days ago but don't feel any different, don't have erections, don't have any libido. Does this mean that the injections aren't working for some reason or might it just take more time to raise my T level? I told the doctor I want a test for estradiol level, and he refused to order it because he think's it's unnecessary. I think I'm going to order DIM and see if it helps. How long before the next blood tests for T levels should I stop taking it to have it out of my system? Maybe I'll be able to convince the doctor to order the estradiol test, and I want to know what the level is without any effect from the DIM. Does anyone take HCG who isn't concerned about fertility but wants to have increased natural production of T rather than get it through replacement? What did you say to your doctor to convince him to prescribe it? Are there any studies or research I might show my doctor to try to get him to prescribe it for me? Does anyone know of a good, progressive, open-minded internal med doctor or endocrinologist within three or four hours driving time of Iowa City, Iowa? Thanks!
