I was on AndroGel 2 packs and getting a 200mg shot every 2 wks. I don't feel

right unless my levels are at 1,200. I started on Testim 4 months ago and my

Dr. started me on only 5 mg one tube. But kept me on the shots. After one

month I had my levels checked and the test came back over the Highest they check

the highest being 1,600. So my Dr. lower the shots to 100mg once a month. Now

after a month I started feeling bad started having panic attacks in the middle

of the night. This happens to me when my levels are going down. So we did a

blood test and my levels were going down from over 1,600 to 947 now this level

is good but the change for 1,600 to 947 causes trouble if I was to tuff it out

for 1 or 2 months I would start feeling better. But I have a bad back and panic

attacks cause me a lot of pain. My Dr. said that Testim arbors much better then

AndroGel I find this to be true. I am also able to have sex with my wife

without using Viagra. And able to reach an orgasm during intercourse I couldn't

do this for a long time it is like the feeling is back. I have heard for people

that clam that Testim does not dry and has a cheep smell to it. You have to rub

Testim in real good until dry and I got used too the smell.

Depends on your priorities--Testim has more T per dose and costs

less, A-gel has no scent. They both give MDs samples. A-gel

sometimes has supply problems because it's made only in France.

(I'm not much of a patriot so that fact didn't matter much to me!)

Testim works great for me--I have not raised my current 5g dose

since I began a couple months ago. Testim brought my total T up to

590 at last visit. Sex drive/performance is back and even Viagra

works better for me now (it used to be only mildly effective at

100mg).

I haven't used androgel as it costs more and I have heard that the

7.5 and 10g doses are pretty common. My MD (Irwin Goldstein in

Boston) has actually switched all his patients from A-gel to

Testim. He said that the levels are significantly higher in all his

converted patients. He even uses it with women. I was sold.

My MD put it this way: using A-gel means using more drug every day,

more cost per dose and more office visits for titrating up and

down. Testim costs about 10% less (I pay cash so this matters to

me) and absorbs 30% more T per dose in a head-to-head study (do a

google search and look at press releases and the Testim site for

this statistic).

It seemed like a no-brainer to me to use Testim as it would result

in higher T-levels and cost me less time and money.

One guy in my Men's Group is on A-gel and I gave him a week's worth

of Testim--he didn't care for the smell (sort of a musk). His T-

levels are fine on 10g of A-gel now and he doesn't care about using

more drug every day to get that effect or the higher cost. I think

it smells fine--my priority is getting higher T-levels.

i am getting good results at almost one month of testim. my pep is

back and have mor einterest in the " better things in life " (wink

wink). testim cost me less than the other one and suits me just fine.
