They charge my credit card $35 for each test and e mail me the results. You do not need a Doctor's approval/prescription or anything. I use their blood drop test kit to check my PSA and Glucose, same costs. I had been checking out ZRT's website. There's a lot of information there which seems to be consistent with what people on this board say. One of the reasons I think saliva testing might be an alternative is I have read that cortisol should be tested several times throughout the day and it is much easier to do that with saliva testing. Guest guest Posted July 30, 2004 Report Share Posted July 30, 2004 While on the topic of discount blood tests, I've been wanting to go to the states (im in canada) for some blood tests to see if there could be any discrepency/errors in my canadian results, as this has been the case for some people. At any rate, how reliable is this www.preventativelabs.com ? have any of you found the results to be more or less completely consistent with the results you received at quest? I am eager to get the " special " estraodil test (can't remember the name right now) and my dht tested for sure, but would like to get everything done. However i don't wanna pay the 1300cdn it's gonna cost me if i do it at quest without insurance. so i would like to try it at this preventative labs place, but before i spend any money i would like to know that this place is completely reliable. btw, Army have you every had any inaccurate results with mds for dht, b/c mine is messed up. I wouldn't spend that kind of money unless i had money to burn. Even a more accurate DHT test isn't necessarilly going to tell you too much about appropriate treatment... I had my estradiol tested here in Canada and it came back as 130 pmol/L range <220 When I went to quest to get my estradiol tested it was 59 pg/ml on a range of 10-50. Here in Alberta, the scale goes up to 90 or something I think for normal, not 220... perhaps they had under 220 is normal for a woman and accidentally had that one for you? Also, depending on the difference in time when you are tested, your estradiol can change siginificantly. My total T came back with 2 diff. levels one was 923 and then near the bottom of the page it said 710 I had to call them to get it right. Some one just posted that Quest goofed up there test to they asked for the Nichols Estradiol Assay Test and they did not get it. The Dr. told me at Quest that the E2 test is good if it is not to low the Assay goes down to 0. I was 48 if I was say under 20 then the Assay would give the number.
