I have been using Nature's Way DIM 200mg per day and my Estradiol came

back at <10 from a range fof 0 - 52. I have since cut back to 1 pill

per day. At the same time my testosterone was 948 from a range of 241 -

827.

Could use some feedback from my recent tests:

TSH: 2.040 from range of .350 - 5.5

T4: 10.1 ug/dl from range of 4.5 - 10.9

Estradiol: <10 from range of 0-52

Testosterone: 948 from range of 241-827

I still suffer from low libido despite once having the exact opposite

problem. Does anyone see any problems with my TSH? What does the

highish T4 mean?

I have been put on Wellbutrin to see if it helps. But after 3 weeks no

change.

I have read some people say that with high prolactin they do not have

much libido. Last time I checked was a year ago and it was 9 with a top

range of 17.0.

Does anyone know of supplements to reduce prolactin or cortisol? What

about supplements to improve thyroid function?

Thanks,

Hey ,

Your TSH is kinda high, but without symptoms of low Thyroid, it may not be an

issue.

Just read up on low Thyroid symptoms, see how many match.

The T4 looks fine, although with a high TSH and high normal T4, it could be a

sign of low

cortisol, or some adrenal issue. Also as we age the conversion of T4 to T3 slows

down, so

you may have low T3 and that is why your TSH is high.

Not much over OTC (over the counter) that will help the Thyroid. Armour is so

far the best

product to increase T2 T3 T4 levels.

Do you have the prolactin blood test?

Thanks for the post. My last prolactin test was in Dec. 2003 and was

9 on a scale that topped out near 17. My last AM cortisol was normal

but near the top. Is there something to be concerned about with

prolactin?

Best,

Only if it is over the top of the range, might be a sign of a pituitary tumor.

High levels of Prolactin will inhibit reproduction.

Dopamine has the effect of inhibiting the secretion of prolactin from the

pituitary gland.

Other prolactin releasing factors exist that can stimulate prolactin secretion.

These include serotonin and thyroid releasing hormones.

Looks like high serotonin from the use of SSRI's stimulate Prolactin release,

also a high

TSH will do the same thing, it will increase Prolactin which will decrease

libido.

Dopamine will decrease Prolactin levels. Selegiline will increase Dopamine

levels.

Armour or any synthetic Thyroid hormone will decrease TSH.

Might be why my libido is sky high, i have lowered TSH, increased Dopamine,

never took

SSRI's, and increased Testosterone.

Thanks . I am going to check that Prolactin level. I think

Wellbutrin is not an SSRI and is actually supposed to increase

libido. Interesting also about the TSH. I might try an herbal remedy.

I spoke with a chemist at a pharma company and he says they can make

herbal thyroid remedies that are very near as good as Rx remedies.

They just don't do it because the return on investment is slight in

herbals, but high in pharma.
