Guest guest
I know how you must feel, I too have been on a merry-go-round on finding a solution to my fatigue/depression. I was also diagnosed with sleep apnea after my phych. couldn't find anything that would help with my symptoms, but after going on cpap, I really don't feel much better. So then we found my T level was also low, but going on androgel didn't help either. So now I'm going to see a new endo to maybe try HCG and have any other hormonal issues addressed. It's frustrating that we have to cycle from doctor to doctor to get the help we need. I personally think the doctors that don't diagnose or treat a condition correctly should have to answer to someone. Just because they didn't learn something in med school doesn't mean they aren't accountable for keeping up to date and if they're not up on condition, they should not try and treat it. Just my opinion. I can't give you my experience with proper T replacement since I'm still working on it, but I hope you can get to a better health status. Yes, there's hope in sight! My gyno didn't go away because I had breast reduction surgery BEFORE I went on T replacement. The skin is a little loose there so I still have largish breasts, but I can live with that rather than have a second surgery, which can remove skin but will leave scars. The first surgery went around each nipple halfway and that's the only scar. I'm not sure whether the gyno will go away on it's own. Your testcicles will probably shrink on T replacement and you will become sterile. Instead you might try HCG if you have secondary hypogonadism. If there's something wrong with your testicles, they may never get larger again. My problem was my pituitary not sending enough LH and FSH to my testicles. HCG mimics LH more than FSH, but more of your testicular volume is from sperm-producing cells than testosterone producing-cells, so unless you take something with FSH in it, your testicles will never get huge. My physique has definitely become more muscular and my sex drive and general energy level and interest in living has improved. I'm at least twice as hairy as I used to be. But it takes months, maybe 6 or more, to start feeling really better. I'm also 56 and I had alot of joint and bone problems that have not completely resolved themselves, so my quality of life is not perfect as far as athletic activities are concerned. This includes bone spurs, bone chips, and some damage to the cartilage in the joints. My bone mineral density has improved enormously. Guest guest
My total testosterone level was 15 (not a typo) when I was tested a few months ago, it is now 676. AndroGel does work, but there are several things that will impact how well: 1. Your skin density: Nothing can be done about this...this is just one of those things. 2. I cannot stress this enough: WAIT 20 MINUTES FOR IT TO DRY BEFORE YOU PUT ON A SHIRT. 3. If you put this on and then go work out.... Won't do a thing for you. You will sweat it all off. 4. Make sure you clean your skin well before applying. Once your T-therapy kicks in, you should feel an almost immediate jump in your libido and sexual performance. It could be as soon as within a week, but everyone is different. Within about a month, I felt more energy and was in a much better mood. Now with the hCG after only 3 shots I am back on my bike, riding 20 miles at least 4 times a week. You need to find the therapy method that works for you. I have been on testosterone shots, scrotal patches, skin patches, gel and now hCG. Most important advice I could give is for you to head over to google and start searching on Hypogonadism, visit the ACCE website... read everything. Yeah, it's usually in medical jargon, but you will be surprised how much you will pick up if you keep at it. I lived 13 years with this in ignorance, you don't have to. Now my doctor hears about new treatments based on what I tell him, not what he tells me. It's quite a rush and you feel so much more empowered. Thanks to all the people on this and other lists I belong to for sharing what you know... it's working. I am now on hCG and I absolutely love it so far. Study up on it before you decide on this route. Some people have been known to become desensitized to it at high dosage levels, know what you're getting into. It only works if you have secondary though. Good luck and don't give up. " -Eleanor Roosevelt Test Level of 69!!! need some positive advice on treatment I have a unique story. I went to the Dr. after a few months of heavy work loads and falling asleep at the wheel without warning. My doctor ordered a blood test and I by chance suggested a Test count. When the results came in he neglected to read the testosterone results, and sent me to have an EEG and MRI done, and then on to a sleep study. They found I have sleep Apnea. After 3 months and a return visit to my primary Dr. I finally asked him what my levels of test were for my own knowledge. Thats when he finally noted that my level was 69!!! Well I got put on dissability and started treatment with a Urologist who didn't even examine me. All along I have known that I have had Gyno, and yet no one even bothered to examine my breast or find out why. I was put on AndroGel at a level of 10G a day. 4 weeks went by and I still felt like crap! I asked the Urologist to do a level check and guess what? 113. Not very good huh! It's now been 7 weeks on AndroGel and still no improvement. Today I went to an Endo, and finally feel like we are headed in the right direction. I am going to have a pituitary test and hypo test run on Friday and then I will get to start injections. It's been a long wait and because of the loss of short term memory, reduced energy, tiredness, loss of concentration, and libido I now have no job(couldn't perform for the last 6 months) and a stressed marriage. I have a model for a wife that any man would want(in fact she is an internet model/topless only) who believes that there is something wrong with her, and blames herself for me having no interest in sex at all. I really want my wife when I think about her and don't want to loose her, it's just I can go 2- 3 weeks without even thinking about sex. Can anyone who has been through this hypogondisim tell me there is hope in site. Are there any real possitive side effects, like the gyno going away, testicles returning to a normal size, more muscular physique, or serious sex drive improvements with test injection therapy. I am a great good looking guy with an incredible looking wife, that wants a normal life. Even though my levels were this low supprisingly I was still making good gains in the gym(must be from my years of being a national level gymnast). I just need to hear some possitive real case studies, no more smoke from doctors about wonder drugs that suck!(AndroGel)...Tell me about any new forms of treatment that give the best results(drugs with the best ROI) so I can share them with my Endo. Thanks as a fellow suffer and a new member any info is greatly appreciated I will update you with my lab results from this Fridays test, and my treatments progression

Guest guest
It depends on your insurance company. Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency is a viable medical condition. I will remind everyone how serious this condition can be. There is increased death risk for those who are growth hormone deficient. Guest guest
Insurance companies are loath to cover treatment with HGH. They will typically require an HGH secretion test, either having to undergo an arginine IV infusion or insulin infusion while having serial HGH levels done during the test. If they can measure a certain small amount of HGH secretion, they declare the individual " normal " and deny therapy. They use a bit of circular reasoning. " If the patient can make HGH under these conditions, he must not need any. " The bummer is that while a person is out walking about in the world, his HGH (IGF-1 is the best measurement) may be terrible. Just because the pituitary gland managed to squeeze some out during a test does not mean that a person has functionally adequate levels at other times. So, insurance companies have a dodge. The good part is that HGH and Testosterone (either HCG or Test-straight) synergise. Often times, if both hormone levels are low, an individual will not get the full benifit of treatment if just single replacement is done. There is a Harvard study by Rudman, who now works for the NIH, that showed the benefit of combination therapy.
Guest guest
Fantastic. I love your work. I did have the Growth Hormone Stimulation Test. Normally a person during an Arginine Infusion test has a blood level of 5 to 10 ng/ml. Sorry but mine never made it even up to 1 ng/ml it was 0.46 ng/ml. If you have the URL for the Article I would like to add it to my research folder. I keep this just in case someone else might need it. I am finding a lot of people who are growth hormone deficient and have hypogonadism. Some doctors are calling this selective Hypopituitarism.
