I know how you must feel, I too have been on a merry-go-round on finding

a solution to my fatigue/depression. I was also diagnosed with sleep

apnea after my phych. couldn't find anything that would help with my

symptoms, but after going on cpap, I really don't feel much better. So

then we found my T level was also low, but going on androgel didn't help

either. So now I'm going to see a new endo to maybe try HCG and have any

other hormonal issues addressed. It's frustrating that we have to cycle

from doctor to doctor to get the help we need. I personally think the

doctors that don't diagnose or treat a condition correctly should have

to answer to someone. Just because they didn't learn something in med

school doesn't mean they aren't accountable for keeping up to date and

if they're not up on condition, they should not try and treat it. Just

my opinion. I can't give you my experience with proper T replacement

since I'm still working on it, but I hope you can get to a better health

status. Much of our own health is in our own hands these days, so keep

searching!

Yes, there's hope in sight!

My gyno didn't go away because I had breast reduction surgery BEFORE I

went on T replacement. The skin is a little loose there so I still

have largish breasts, but I can live with that rather than have a

second surgery, which can remove skin but will leave scars. The first

surgery went around each nipple halfway and that's the only scar. I'm

not sure whether the gyno will go away on it's own.

Your testcicles will probably shrink on T replacement and you will

become sterile. Instead you might try HCG if you have secondary

hypogonadism. If there's something wrong with your testicles, they

may never get larger again. My problem was my pituitary not sending

enough LH and FSH to my testicles. HCG mimics LH more than FSH, but

more of your testicular volume is from sperm-producing cells than

testosterone producing-cells, so unless you take something with FSH in

it, your testicles will never get huge.

My physique has definitely become more muscular and my sex drive and

general energy level and interest in living has improved. I'm at least

twice as hairy as I used to be. But it takes months, maybe 6 or more,

to start feeling really better.

I'm also 56 and I had alot of joint and bone problems that have not

completely resolved themselves, so my quality of life is not perfect

as far as athletic activities are concerned. This includes bone spurs,

bone chips, and some damage to the cartilage in the joints. My bone

mineral density has improved enormously.

My total testosterone level was 15 (not a typo) when I was tested a few

months ago, it is now 676. AndroGel does work, but there are several

things that will impact how well:

1. Your skin density: Nothing can be done about this...this is just

one of those things.

2. I cannot stress this enough: WAIT 20 MINUTES FOR IT TO DRY

BEFORE YOU PUT ON A SHIRT.

3. If you put this on and then go work out.... Won't do a thing for

you. You will sweat it all off.

4. Make sure you clean your skin well before applying.

Once your T-therapy kicks in, you should feel an almost immediate jump

in your libido and sexual performance. It could be as soon as within a

week, but everyone is different. Within about a month, I felt more

energy and was in a much better mood. Now with the hCG after only 3

shots I am back on my bike, riding 20 miles at least 4 times a week.

You need to find the therapy method that works for you. I have been on

testosterone shots, scrotal patches, skin patches, gel and now hCG. Most

important advice I could give is for you to head over to google and

start searching on Hypogonadism, visit the ACCE website... read

everything. Yeah, it's usually in medical jargon, but you will be

surprised how much you will pick up if you keep at it. I lived 13 years

with this in ignorance, you don't have to. Now my doctor hears about new

treatments based on what I tell him, not what he tells me. It's quite a

rush and you feel so much more empowered. Thanks to all the people on

this and other lists I belong to for sharing what you know... it's

working.

I am now on hCG and I absolutely love it so far. Study up on it before

you decide on this route. Some people have been known to become

desensitized to it at high dosage levels, know what you're getting into.

It only works if you have secondary though.

It was Brad here that suggested to men on 10 G/dy AG, to consider 2x/dy

application, given short half-life of testosterone.....I've been doing that

since last winter.

I also use bottom of a glass, Gerber's baby food jar as an applicator...I

can rub AG in well. I clean my application areas, shaved abdomen and 4 x6 "

oblongs on inner thighs well with rubbing alcohol.

Since I cleared prostate issues, I've begun putting some AG on my shave

cock/nuts..

But I wanna go back to injections....was on 100 mg/wk from 4-2-01 to

11-1-01...had T levels measured twice.

Blood collected 8th day after last injection of 100 mg Depo-Testosterone

The high free T probably converted to Es...then I was not on Arimidex, but I
