I recently started the patches. The forearm works the best for me. The patch

pulls the hair on the stomach when you remove it. The inside of the leg has

too much movement and the patch wrinkles and does not lay flat.

You can not put on half a patch because it is filled with the medication.

You should notice no difference in how you feel. After about 4 or 5 days, I

was much calmer and more alert. It has not affected my libido which is

somehthing I was hoping for. I have a better overall feeling. I also think

my beard is growing more.

My goal is to achieve penetration with Viagara, and I have not given this

enough time.

The most effective place is on the upper arms and shoulders.

According to Androgel, you can put it on your abs, but I 'think' the

shoulders are better as there is less body fat.

5mg is the lowest dose. There are 10mg packets. I would start up

with the full dose right away. No need to mess around.

For me, androgel did not work by itself. (not trying to be

discouraging). When got my injection, and was finishing up my gel, I

felt great, (energized and horny) and now without the gel, I feel

just 'ok', so it must do something. I guess it depends on how low

your levels are, and what your 'optimal' level is. Whether you will

have sex with farm animals, that I cant tell you. Havent tried it.

Seriously, it works for lots of people, and it might be what you need

to feel better. If it does work, your drive will go up, and you will

feel better.

As for irritibility, I am much more irritable when my levels are low,

and I'm tired nad cranky. My wife can tell when I'm due for shot as

I become " impatient and crabby " .... of course its not her thats

making me cranky

Let us know how it work for you. Others who take it regularly

probably will have more insight.

For me, I never got a therapeutic dose until I applied it to my legs.

(inner thighs). Arms and shoulders just didn't absorb it. I am quite

hairy, which also doesn't help. I almost had to go off the gel and

try shots until I heard the only reason they don't recommend these

other sites is because they weren't tested in the initial drug

trials. I read another article that found the best absorption occurs

on the back.

Just experiment a bit. And the only reason not to use it on the

scrotum is because the alcohol burns that skin in most guys. Some

here actually put it there and like it...

I apply to my shaved inner thighs. As I'm on 10 G/dy....couple years ago I

took Brad's suggestion and split my 10 Gms into 5 gms in AM and 5 gms in

PM.

Also I use bottom of baby food jar as an applicatior.

Congratulations on your finally acquiring Androgel. Yipee! I apply it to

my upper arms/shoulders. I have applied it to my scrotum and even to my

penis. What a burn! And yet . . . the burn is over pretty quick and I find

that AG on my penis gives me an instant erection. Interesting. (Though I'm

not sure if this is true for everyone. I've never had any problems with

ED.)

I'd use the whole 5mg packet. You'll probably notice a feeling of well

being, maybe a bit more aggression, maybe a near constant horniness. Your

neck and chest may " flush " red, you may feel like your blood pressure is up.

You may start sprouting more hair, claws, fangs and you may begin howling

at the moon.

I applied my first dose ever before going to sleep and I kept waking up with

a wicked hard on. The possibility of priapism occurred to me but it seemed

to take care of itself.

What were your T-Levels before you started the gel, and were you

retested afterwards?

Androgel also comes in 2.5 mg packets. My husband is on 7.5 mg a day, 3ea

2.5mg packets a day.

I could not access Medical Letter without subscribing. Do you have a copy of

that article about Testim. Until I came to this list I had never heard of

it. I would like to find out more so that my husband can make an informed

decision.

a box of 2.5g packages of a-gel costs the same as a box of 5g

packages--he's paying 3 co-pays per month (instead of two). if he's

uninsured, that's about $579/month ($193+193+193) instead of only

$386 if he used a 5g plus a 2.5g per day.

That's a lot of money for someone (either you guys or your insurance

provider) to spend per month

Testim was just reviewed in the most recent " Medical Letter "

(www.medicalletter.org; non-industry sponsored; uses clinicians

quoting research plus referencing their clinical experience with the

drug). according to this publication, Testim will give the same t-

levels for a 5g dose/day (1/3 your current a-gel cost).

you can pay $5 per copy from the website or just go to a medical

library at any major teaching hospital. most MDs get this

publication, so you can ask around too--September 1st edition.
