Guest guest
Hi , If I remember right you had propecia side effects also. Are you using tamoxifen as an anti estrogen or to raise your LH levels. Can you let me know what your hormone levels are again, esp if you're using tamoxifen as an anti estrogen... My E2 levels are high after using propecia. Thanks! > Hi, > I haven't posted for a while. Guest guest
Hi , There's a search site at: http://www.tuneupyourt.com/find_a_doctor.html Also there might be some California doctors in the Database section here. Guest guest
Thanks for replying to my posting. My doctor prescribed Tamoxifen to raise T levels. I have been taking 10 mg. 3 times a week, which is a very low dosage. When I started it, I noticed an increase in erections and even morning erections, which I had not had much of for a long time. The benefits of the med seemed to be greater at first, but are still good. I feel like having sex more often, do not really get those soft erections anymore, and don't have trouble maintaining an erection. These had all been problems before. Like I said, the benefits started to taper off, but it is still working pretty well. I am wondering to myself if this is all psychological, but I don't think so because I actually stopped taking the Tamoxifen for about a week and the sex drive went way down during that time. Here are my lab results for pre-Tamoxifen and post-Tamoxifen: March, 2004: Pre-Tamoxifen Total T: 388 (400-800)ng/dL SHBG: 18 (13-710) nmol/L Albumin: 4.4 (3.3-4.8) g/dL Free T: 95 (50-210) pg/mL % Free T: 2.4 (1.6-2.9) Bioavailable T: 259.3 (130.5-681.7) ng/dL Estradiol: 28 (<77) pg/mL LH: 7 (2.0-12.0) mU/mL FSH: 5.2 (1.0-8.0) mU/mL June, 2004: After Tamoxifen for 3 months (Note: As I mentioned, I was only taking Tamoxifen 3 times per week. I did this test on one of the days I did not take the Tamoxifen.) Estradiol: 33 (<77) pg/mL FSH: 5.6 (1.0-8.0) mU/mL Total T: 442 (400-800) ng/dL LH: 3.9 (1.5-9.3) IU/L After this last test, my doc. put me on Tamoxifen (10mg.) 5 times per week. I am hoping to re-test soon to see how the results are. When I compare the pre-tamoxifen and post-tamoxifen levels, I get a litt confused. Why would the Estradiol be higher now while taking this med.? Is it because I did the lab work on an off day? Also, LH appears to be lower now? Do you have any insight into all of this? Thanks! > > Hi, > > I haven't posted for a while. Been taking Tamoxifen and it seems to > > be helping pretty well. Tamoxifen is a " blocker " not a " reducer " . >Is it because I did the lab work on an off day? Also, LH > appears to be lower now? Do you have any insight into all of this? > Higher levels of sex hormones in your bloodstream have a negative feedback effect on LH output.
