Guest guest
Hi Mark, From my understanding, please keep in mind, I have no experience with any form of treatment at the moment, Im still waiting for doctor's appts. If you have NOT been on TRT for prolonged periods of time you will still be able to get your fertility going again. The methods I heard of are using hCG to release LH hormones. Someone else on this group mentioned using injectable FSH, to get increase sperm production. I think he also mentioned FSH is used for producing sperm. I think the best thing to do is to get the fertility system going and freeze some sperm. > Is it possible after being on T for awhile to jump-start your > fertility using HCG? > > Thanks, > Mark

Yes, you can inject hCG. It may or may not be necessary to add injections of hmg (Pergonal is one brand). There are no guarantees but I would be optimistic rather than pessimistic. There is some discussion of this in the AACE clinical guidlines. Brad
Guest guest
Brad, Thanks for your response! What I meant by " jump-start " is that i'm pretty sure that having low T lowers your fertility in most cases, and I've also read/been told that being on T replacement can make you infertile. I was wondering if HcG can reverse that. Thanks, Mark > I am never sure what is implied by terms like " jump-start " or > " kick-start " . >
Guest guest
Hcg can substitute for low levels of LH and Hmg can replace missing FSH. Brad > Brad, > > Thanks for your response! T can be pretty low and you can still be fertile (provided it's not genetic and you underwent a normal puberty). TRT on the other hand will turn off the system so to speak and infertility or greatly lowered fertility is almost a given. Provided you haven't been on TRT for too long you can jump start the system with HCG or GNRH. The longer you are on the less likely it will " take " .
