sticky shoulders--I remember that! rub more when you apply it--it'll

go away--I promise :)

a CVS pharmacist gave me the low-down on this: Testim is actually

not a generic, it just costs 10% less per box, so pharmacies pay less

for it. they can turn around and charge you and the insurance

companies less than a-gel and still make a bigger profit off selling

testim.

insurance companies like testim because the 5g tube delivers as much

testosterone as 7.5g of a-gel. the 7.5g agel is a 5g packet plus a

2.5g packet every day--that's 2 packages/day. they charge per

package, not per volume (both dose sizes cost close to or exactly the

same--they cost the same at CVS), so that effectively doubles the

cost to an insurer or a cash-paying patient. so, 7.5g of agel is 2

co-pays for you and costs twice as much as one box of testim for the

same results...I pay cash now so this is a MAJOR selling point to me,

to the tune of about $170/month.

anyhow, that doesn't matter to most people. to answer your question,

you have to rub it in for about a minute on each shoulder/arm--it's a

much thicker gel than a-gel--that's partly why it absorbs better. a-

gel is thinner and has more alcohol per volume, so you can just drip

it on and slap it in and go in about 10 seconds. if you just slap on

testim, it won't soak in effectively.

I've heard of guys wetting their fingers with water and re-rubbing

the site if there's any residual stickiness, but that's pretty rare

if you rub it in for a while.

best of luck!

  • 4 weeks later...

I am still trying to resolve the sticky shirt problem myself. I

think it may be linked to my shower gel, which has a moisturizer in

it. I am switching to ivory soap which has no moisturizer in it.

I would like to hear from other testim users.

I am applying the gel after my morning shower and I am applying it

and rubbing for a while, but still getting the problem.

Thanks for any help.
