Guest guest
> How much does the testosterone replacement cost on average? > > How often is it covered by private drug plans? --------------------------- Ken, hopefully others will elaborate and clarify further, but I will start out and tell you that giving yourself shots of depotestosterone is probably the cheapest way to get T into your body. Next cheapest is probably having a local compounding pharmacy mix some T with a gel or cream to be rubbed on daily. I just paid $75 for a small jar of 10% testosterone gel that will last for two months and deliver 12.5 mg of T a day. I suppose having a doctor surgically implant testosterone pellets in your behind every three of four months at around $450 is probably the most expensive. And this pellet total cost is probably pretty much the same as paying retail for Androgel or Androderm, any direct drug company T product is very expensive to pay for their advertising and big profit margins. Whether or not your private drug plan recognizing the legitimacy of being hypogonadic or not and their willingness to pay for treatment is the big it. Some folks are on Medicare and the government pays for Ernest's pellets I believe, great deal for him. I am self employed with a major medical policy, so I have had to pay for testosterone for over 35 years now myself. For that reason I like the T gel as it is cheap and I can control the amount daily myself. norton

Guest guest
Hi, My cost is mostly paid by medicare in Augusta GA which runs about $450. Think I have to pay about $60. Medicare in other areas does not pick this up. Yearly the cost is $1350 for no insurance or in my case $180. I was asked on one visit if I would allow another doctor to install my 20 hormone pelletts with Dr. gambrell assisting as he was there for some training on how, where and such to install the pellets and inserting the trocar under the skin for about 3 inches. Experinced training with the trocar is essential to using it. There is nothing to be done except go back in 4 months. ernestnolan > How much does the testosterone replacement cost on average? > > How often is it covered by private drug plans? Guest guest
My t-cyp costs me a little under 100 bucks at CVS for a 10ml bottle, needles, and syringes. The bottle lasts about 3 months. Mark
Guest guest
You can get a 2 months supply of compounded T cream (any dose) from the Women's International Pharmacy in Arizona for about $35 plus shipping. http://www.womensinternational.com/ > > How much does the testosterone replacement cost on average? > > > > How often is it covered by private drug plans? > --------------------------- > Ken, hopefully others will elaborate and clarify further, but I > will start out and tell you that giving yourself shots of > depotestosterone is probably the cheapest way to get T into your > body. > Next cheapest is probably having a local compounding pharmacy mix > some T with a gel or cream to be rubbed on daily. Guest guest
Ken: Through Humana HMO (Ohio), I pay $20 for 30 days of Androgel 5% (according to the pharmacist, I am saving around $190 through my insurance). Guest guest
The price is almost the same if you order 30 grams or 60 grams. So, if you're using 1 gram per day of 100mg, then ask your doc if he will order 60 grams for you, which will last you 2 months. > > You can get a 2 months supply of compounded T cream (any dose) from > > the Women's International Pharmacy in Arizona for about $35 plus > > shipping. http://www.womensinternational.com/ > > > > > > 2 months supply for $35?
