Guest guest
I break out in a rash when my Estradiol levels go up have you had this checked. If so and they are ok then you need to stop the androgel but you could try Testim. Do you put on the androgel after a shower. It is very bad to not shower first. Phil rndchemist <rndchemist@...> wrote: I just developed an irritation on my shoulders. It gets worse with Androgel. My shoulders area itch and are very sensitive to touch and heat and moisture. When I wear clothes, it feels like I am wearing shoulder pads with needles. Benadryl (caps) help me control the itching. I went to Urgent Care and they gave me methylpred and that helped. The doctor in UC asked me to go and see my own doctor because he suspected one of my meds was causing it. I went to see my allergist because I thought it was an allergic reaction (long story). When the doctor saw the site, he said it was " folicular acne " and said Androgel causes it mainly on the shoulders. He asked me if it gets worse with moisturizers and I said yes and he was not surprised. He told me not to use Androgel on the shoulders and gave me a prescription for Metrogel (I cannot decipher the first letter in the hand written prescription), 0.75% to apply twice a day. He told me that oil based moisturizers will make me feel worse (I have been using Cetaphil and it does get worse when I apply it). He recommended Eucerin or Aquaphor which are water based. The question I have is: if I cannot continue to apply Androgel in my body, what are my best alternatives to replace it? I apply Andro on my sides and on my quads (legs); so I have 4 different places. The only problem I have is I feel those places are also becoming a little sensitive too. Thanks in advance! Flaco
Guest guest
There is no difference between Androgel and Testim as far as their respective abilities to produce estrogen. Guest guest
Phil: I always put Androgel on right after the shower in the morning. I think my problem was caused by the excessive heat (96 degrees) and very high humidity on those two days. Plus, I put Andro on my shoulder that morning right before going to play softball and then on top of it I put the sunscreen. I also believe that the T-shirt I wore for the first game (a 50/50 poly/cotton blend) was also part of the issue. My skin is sensitive to polyster, lycra and very sensitive to latex. I think all these combinations made a bad mix for my skin and gave me the irritation. It is going down slowly. I still itch, mainly when is hot and humid. The Eucirin works well. I need to learn to apply just a smear of it and not a boat load of it. The Metrogel prescription is an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent used mainly to treat redness and inflamation associated with rosacea. The list of side effects is scary, so I am not using it unless I see the skin deteriorating. I do plan to see my doctor soon for my physical and I will ask for the entire hormonal panel, including E2 since she did not do it last time, including the PSA or the prostate exam. I wonder if insurance companies are putting pressure on docs not to do this exam since this is the second time she has not performed it and before, even if I went to see her for a cold she would ask me to " bend over and sing Sinatra for me!!! Guest guest
OK this is how it happens to me. For yrs. like 15 I would break out like this and it was always do to heat. If I took a hot shower I would get big red spots all over my body. If I eat shrimp I got hives never had this problem before. I have always had a spa if I went in it when this was going on it got worse. I read about high E2 Estradiol here at this link. http://www.lef.org/protocols/prtcls-txt/t-prtcl-130.html So I got some Zinc with Copper and took 100 mgs. a day for a month the 50 mgs. the dam rash went away. But this did not last it came back after my body leveled off on the zinc. So I got my Dr. to test my E2 it was dam high. I took Arimidex .5 mgs. everyday for a month and the rash went away and only comes back when my E2 goes up. My ED and trouble reaching an orgasm got better also. I get panic attacks they are gone. But like I said the heat made it bad and putting anything on it was a no no. Phil rndchemist <rndchemist@...> wrote: Phil: I always put Androgel on right after the shower in the morning. Guest guest
Phil: Thanks for the article! I just printed it so I can digest it better. Do you know the year it was written? I have been having ED problems lately too, in spite of using my Androgel by the book and my Total T and Free T being within good ranges. I will get in touch with my doctor to have my tests done soon. I remember my E2 last year was at 24. I need to find out where it is currently. Flaco > > I just developed an irritation on my shoulders. It gets worse with > > Androgel. Guest guest
That was the first thing I read about low T and high E2 when I joined here. Now I tell to read message #14939 " My Dr.'s Current Best Thoughts on TRT " . This is the best thing to read out there. I print out a copy and gave it to my Dr. to get him to try me on Hcg. Dr. 's treatment was a life saver for me. Phil rndchemist <rndchemist@...> wrote: Phil: Thanks for the article! I just printed it so I can digest it better. Do you know the year it was written? Guest guest
I don't buy anything from LifeExtension and don't endorse there products. Mason is, well let me say it this way " a legend in his own mind " . This link I gave was the first thing I ever read about high E2 and low T for that matter. I find it to be a dam good read still today. I could flood you with links on high E2. I have a scientific mind being an engineer and a master of all traides but not one. So I do a lot of research before making a conclusion about anything. Thanks Phil rndchemist <rndchemist@...> wrote: Phil: I just ran into this site that totally discredits LifeExtension. Guest guest
Phil: I did like the article and I have it in my folder regarding Andropause. I went further into the LifeExtension sie and looked at their different products and when I got to the minerals I noticed that the majority of the minerals in their formulation are in the " oxide " form. Being a chemist that has work for more than 10 years in the Pharma industry, and also have read a lot about absorption of minerals through the digestive system, you learn that Oxides and Carbonates are not very soluble, therefore they go in and out your digestive tract almost as a whole. Citrates, gluconates, acetates, nitrates, some esters, chlorides and hydroxides forms are the easiest to be digested by our system. That is when I decided to leave the site. Thanks! Guest guest
Flaco, Thanks for your valuable info. I would not have known that and have been buying supplemnent of these type that are not easily digestible. From your experience can you give me your opinion o Nitric Oxide tablets ? I am currently using BSN Nitix. Thanks in advance, Guy --- rndchemist <rndchemist@...> wrote: > Phil: > > I did like the article and I have it in my folder > regarding > Andropause. Guest guest
Guy: I really do not know much about them. I have never used them at all. Does it work for you with no serious side effects? I have read literature about it and its effects on ED (I believe Viagra, Cialis and the rest work by increasing Nitric oxide levels in the blood, which then dilates the blood vessels thus inducing the erection). Sea food does the same to some people (it does to me; the problem is I do not like sea food too much) I have also read that Arginine will have the same effect in high doses (over 3 grams a day). I tried Viagra three times and I did not get good results. The last time I used it I got really sick to my stomach so I threw away the rest of the pills I had left. I tried to give them away to a friend of mine, whom I had given one before to try, and he refused them too because it did not do a thing for him. I have yet tried Cialis. I am concern about the side effects lingering for over a day. There is a company that has a drug in clinical trials that it actually estimulates the brain center that controls arousal. So far the trials have proven to be effective for ED with no side effects. It is a nasal spray. Still, it will be several years before it comes to market, if it passes the trials. One thing that helps me with my ED is " cock rings " . I have used the plastic ones and they help me achieve erections when I have " biological problems " and when I don't have these problems, then the erection I get is just incredible. They have also helped me with my " endurance " . I do not use them often because I do not know of their side effects for prolonged use. Using them from time to time, so far no problems. Guest guest
I am doing cialis 20 mgs. every 72 hrs. as per my Dr. the side effects where there the first 2 pills then no more. Once you get going on this you will not need to use a pump or ring. I was doing this for yrs. but could not reach an orgasm because my E2 was so high. If my E2 goes up the Cialis does not work for me. Try getting you E2 tested first and if your over E2 is high over 30 then get it down first you may find like me you don't need Cialis I only take it because it makes me hard as a rock and my wife likes this hell it was never that hard when I was young. So I take it to make her happy. Phil rndchemist <rndchemist@...> wrote: Guy: I really do not know much about them. I have never used them at all. Does it work for you with no serious side effects? Guest guest
Phil, I am new to this whole affair. I spent 35 years neutering animals and never considered bringing them back to function. Please tell me what E-2 is (possibly serum estradiol?) Is there a down side to receiving Clomid? What is it usually prescribed for? Guest guest
Ron Clomid is not a good form of T replacement it has some bad side effects. It is used as a test. Read this if you have time. http://www.aace.com/clin/guidelines/hypogonadism.pdf I feel you need to get retested. Try to get this done. It is from Dr. 's protocol on testing and treatment of Low T. You can read it at message #14939. Phil INITIAL LABWORK Following a good Medical History, which laboratory assays should be run as part of your initial hypogonadism workup? Following is my list, but certainly other specialists in this area run expanded or attenuated panels, per their experience and expertise. Of note, there are several other tests which should be included to complete the true comprehensive Anti-Aging Medicine workup (i.e. homocysteine, fasting insulin, comprehensive thyroid study, etc.), as this chapter is concerned solely with administering TRT. And as always, the panel is tailored to the individual patient. Here they are: • Total Testosterone • Bioavailable Testosterone (AKA " Free and Loosely Bound " ) • Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is unavailable) • DHT • Estradiol (specify the Extraction Method, or " sensitive " assay for males) • LH • FSH • Prolactin • Cortisol • Thyroid Panel • CBC • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel • Lipid Profile • PSA (if over 40) • IGF-1 (if HGH therapy is being considered) FOLLOW-UP LABS Two weeks after initiating a transdermal, or five weeks after the first IM injection: • Total Testosterone • Bioavailable Testosterone • Free Testosterone (if Bioavailable T is still unavailable) • Estradiol (specify the Extraction Method, or " sensitive " assay for males) • DHT (especially if patient is using a transdermal delivery system) • FSH (3rd Generation—ultrasensitive assay this time) • CBC • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel • Lipid Profile • PSA (for more senior patients) • IGF-1 (if GH Therapy has been initiated already) Ron Hines <rhines@...> wrote:Phil, I am new to this whole affair. Ron Hines DVM PhD http://www.2ndchance.info/consultation.htm Re: Androgel: site irritation I am doing cialis 20 mgs. every 72 hrs. as per my Dr. the side effects where there the first 2 pills then no more. Once you get going on this you will not need to use a pump or ring. I was doing this for yrs. but could not reach an orgasm because my E2 was so high. If my E2 goes up the Cialis does not work for me. Guest guest
Flaco, I have used Nitric Oxide products before and they seem to do a decent job with no side effects. I am currently stacking BSN Nitrix and NO Explode. They give me that extra strength in the gym and I have seen some great results when using them. I have tried various NO products over the years, so good and some bad. I also used arginine, yohimbe, maca and and at one point was going to try longjack(tongat ali). They all help in the erection process just as good if not better than Viagra or Cialis. In fact I tried Viagra and I didn't like it at all. It made my erection seem like it was numb with no feeling. I have used Cialis sporadically and in the beginning it worked great but with only a little sensation. Then after a period of time (6 months)it seemed like my body chemistry became adapted to it and effected me like Viagra. I get better results from supplements. Any idea why that would be the case? To me, just getting an erection and not feeling any type of penile sensation is frustrating. I am seeing my docter this Wednesday and asking for a prescription of Dostinex. It helps where Viagra and Cialis fall short. Have you any experience or info on this product ? Guy --- rndchemist <rndchemist@...> wrote: > Guy: > > I really do not know much about them. Guest guest
Guy: I have no experience with any of those products. I do not like to take meds/suplements a lot. I have always believed you do not get everything for nothing. There is always a payback (side effect). I take 500 mg of Arginine, which is not enough to " get me going " , because I do not want to chance it by taking 6 of those tablets at once. What you described with Viagra is more or less what I experienced, with the addition that my erections were not as hard as I have been able to achieve naturally (a good porno movie and a hot wife!!).
