Guest guest
Snowking: I have been taking 50 mg twice a day since July. I noticed a decrease in body fat after about two months. Try to find a zinc-only supplement. I'm not having any zinc-related problems, only benefits (that I can sense). Something else, the flu season has been widespread here - 4 out of 5 kids had it, and my wife the nurse came down with it too. I have not. I'm thinking that being home for the most part (unemployed) and the zinc I am taking has helped keep me from getting sick. Todd Zinc tablets I use the following zinc tablets: http://www.wassen.com/nutrition-vitamins/nutritional-supplements-ZincACE.htm They only contain 15mg (100% RDA) of zinc. I am currently reading " The Testosterone Syndrome " by Shippens and he suggests 50mg of zinc for someone who is hypo. Just wondered what other people used? Also should I start taking two a day or will I end up overdosing on the other substances contained in these supplements? Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Snowking, I first learned about importance of zinc for men when I subscribed to Newsgroup, Alt.Support Impotence. Spring 2000 a member posted that he had just read Shippen's The Testosterone Syndrome which I soon ordered from http://amazon.com/. My Es were rising so I tried Shippen's first line approach for his new clients. I began supplementing with ~100 mg zinc/day. We are fortunate here in Houston to have a Buyer's Club (HBC) for HIV/AIDS individuals and they stock high quality items....that's where I learned about Jarrow Formulas Brand. So that's what I began buying/supplementing with. Prices were very good ~$3.75 for Zinc Balance 15/100 capsules. So good that I bought b/f 12 bottles and shipped to him. Last year I went in to replenish my supply and price was ~$5.50...I asked owner why sudden, high increase. Apparently HBC had been under pricing for sale. I got on line and Googled and came up with http://store./nutritiondome1/jr-093.html Jarrow Zinc Balance 15 mg (100 caps) Description: Zinc Balance 15 is a synergistic combination of OptiZincT brand Zinc Monomethionate and Copper Gluconate in a 15:1 zinc/copper ratio because supplementing zinc without copper may cause copper deficiency. Jarrow Zinc Balance 15 mg (100 caps) JR-093 $7.95Sale $4.39 You save: $3.56 (45%) Comments: Very good price for Jarrow Zinc Balance...this is a year's supply for me Name Code Qty Each Options ------------------------------------------------------------- Jarrow Zinc Balance 15 mg JR-093 15 4.39 (100 caps) Subtotal 65.85 Shipping 7.50 Total 73.35 So as you can see above, I order 15 bottles of Zinc Balance 15...this is a year's supply for me. Based on my lab results my Es were still rising so zinc was not inhibiting my aromatase. I discontinued zinc supplementation. Then I noticed that my toss off volume declined. The old adage that oyster put lead in men's pencils is true. Of all food on planet, oysters contain highest zinc concentration of any food. So I began zinc supplementation again and restored my toss off volume. Couple years ago I Googled " zinc toxicity " and as I recall, toxicity level is ~150 mg/day. I was impressed when I bought Mature Multi Vitamin, Member's Mark, label of Sam's Club. Each tablet contains 15 mg zinc and 2 mg copper. I also take three The Prostate Formula, Real Health. The serving size of three tablets contains 15 mg/zinc. My daily consumption: Four zinc Balance 15 (split into two at breakfast and two with dinner) = 60 mg Mature Multi = 15 The Prostate Formula = 15 So my zinc supplementation in 90 mg/day and copper is 5 mg/day. Just my experiences... OR eon GayMan Zinc tablets I use the following zinc tablets: http://www.wassen.com/nutrition-vitamins/nutritional-supplements-ZincACE.htm They only contain 15mg (100% RDA) of zinc. Guest guest
The best zinc is monomethionine/asparate The best zinc product is ZMA, there are many brands out there. ZMA has zinc, magnesium and B6 If you use the cheaper types of zinc you also need copper with it as zinc will use up copper in your system. The zinc monomethionine/asparate won't use up any copper. And some zinc products can't be used by the body at all. There was a story last week warning not to use more then around 50mg a day of zinc. ZMA has been tested and found to increase anabolic hormone levels.....don't have a link for that study. It may reduce estrogen, raising the T to E ratio. The product zinc-ace does not even say what type of zinc it is. Advoid that product. The Jarrow zinc is better, but ZMA is best. > I use the following zinc tablets: > > http://www.wassen.com/nutrition-vitamins/nutritional-supplements-ZincACE.htm > > They only contain 15mg (100% RDA) of zinc.
