I take Androgel (10 gm as recommended here vs. 5 gm by endo.)but no anti-aromase. See the endo and urologist next week. Ridge
Guest guest
Your T is way too high. I can not see doing anything other than reducing your Androgel. Its the free T results that you have to look at and it is wayyyy too high even though your total T is just at the top of the range. Try to get into the upper third of the free T range. That is good enough. It is regrettable that you still do not have the energy that you are missing but you have gotten all of the results that you are going to get from T and should move on to looking at other things such as thryroid. Your estrogen is high but when you lower your T level that 1/2mg of armidex will probably be sufficient to lower it, or you might not even need that because your T is so ungodly high that you really dont know what your E will be until you lower it. As you probably know, the estrogen comes from testosterone converting over to estrogen. Good luck. Guest guest
Carmine, A couple thoughts... The T " might " be too high for you. Your natural levels may be lower. How much androgel do you use per day? I would suspect you might be a little high on the E2. Arimidex does not work well for me. You may need to adjust the dose up. But in all honesty, If those were my numbers I would be pretty happy, especially with that Free T, except for the fact you do not feel well. I personally like to keep my E2 around 20 pg/ml. If your not getting at least 45 mg of zinc, you might consider raising it. I also like to take large amounts of vitamin C which is also a natural aromatase inhibitor. Are these your first set of tests or do you have anything else to base off of? y > Hi I am on adrogel and 1/2mg of arimidex.I got the following test > results back: > Total testosterone 1026 ng/dl range 262-1000 > Free testosterone 387pg/ml range 34-194 > Estrodadiol 59pg/ml range 0-52 > > These are all high and my doctor doesnt doesnt know what to do > 1) decrease androgel dose OR > 2) increase arimidex and/or zinc > I still dont have the energy I use to > PLEASE HELP : ANYONE WITH SIMILAR RESULTS AND/OR SUGESTIONS ON WHAT > TO DO??? > Sicerely > Carmine
Guest guest
" Ungodly High " is a very big overstatement. Total T just above 1000 is normal by a lot of measurements. It is perfectly healthy. The free t is high. Winter, please post a link to a study that shows that T slightly above normal is bad. I would be interested in seeing what can be bad about it. Carmine: Note, you should retest, making sure not to put the androgel on hand or arm that they are drawing blood from, and don't put the androgel on for at least 12 hours prior. Lowering your e level might help you feel better. Whether or not you should change your arimidex dose depends on how long you have been taking it. If not long, then stick with the 1/2 mg DAILY and retest in a couple of weeks. If long, then you might want to consider upping the dose. However, if you feel constantly tired, you never know, it could be that the arimidex has something to do with that. Even though your e is slighly high, consider going off the arimidex for a few days and see if you feel better or worse. You can always go right back on it after and reverse any higher estradiol that is caused in that short time period. I find I get very tired and lethargic if I take Arimidex every day. If one wants to focus on just total T and does not belong to the school of thought that it is really the free T that counts then I suppose that is one way to go. A free T level that is TWICE the highest level in the reference range is not a replacement level. Maybe the patient will feel better at that level or maybe at five times that level. I dont know but it would be experimentation at that point and not replacement. I am a big believer in playing the high end of the range but if I were a physician I would not have any medical basis for taking a persons free T level up that high paticularly when the patient has stated that he still doesnt have the energy back that he was seeking so the benefits dont appear to be there either. Guest guest
From what I understand, Free T is generally not used as the end all and be all measurement because different labs have different ways of testing it and a lot of the methods that some labs use are not necessarilly correct. Total T is an easier measurement to take and compare, and seems to be the most important one that even the big docs often use. Armyguy > > > > >> > > " Ungodly High " is a very big overstatement.
