Androgel Application Question

On your workout days workout shower then gel. Check your DHT and Estradiol

levels with your Testosterone.

BBA <bba@...> wrote: On 7.5mg of Androgel daily....using the

consistent, although they have dropped a little from a year ago. I

know that ideally, Androgel should be applied in the AM to a clean,

dry body and wait at least 6 hrs before showering / swimming. Any

ideas if it would be better to apply right before or after exercise?

Or does it matter.? On one hand, I'm thinking it would be good to

have a boost of T in your body before (gel peaks 1 hour after

application). But, on the other, it's nice to shower afterwards, and

then the T would be there for post exercise healing. Any thoughts?

Hi Bill sure your skin needs to be dry for the gel to get into your body

sweating pushs the gel out of the skin with the sweat.

Now that makes perfect sense. Thanks!

How about if you were to put it on, and then workout say 2-3 hours

later?? Same effect, or has much of the absorption been done?

The gel continues absorbtion all day. If you're sweating it off and

washing it off, you're not getting the full dose.

Well I'm no expert, but the literature that came with the androgel say

take it in the morning. My Doc told me to take it as early as possible

in the morning so that it would mimic the naturly process. Apparently

T peaks in the morning.

As for exercising, the wetter you are the lest effective the gel is. My

understanding is that applies to anytime between application and 5 or 6

hours after application.

Hope that helps.

I recall a discussion with Dr somewhere where he said that the

bulk of the Androgel was absorbed within an hour. I don't recall if

that was in a forum or on the phone, so take my recollection with a

grain of salt, though I think the fact that blood concentrations peak

within about 2 hours of application (per AG's literature), that idea

is supported by the research.

As with any drug titration, if you're consistent with the way you

apply it, even when contrary to manufacturer's instructions, you'll

eventually get a dose that meets your needs at your convenience. If

your life style makes showering after an hour necessary, you can

increase the dosage to a level that negates the early showering.

With the Testim gel, the wait is shorter..whereas it is 6 hours for

the ASndrogel..it is on about 1/2 of that time for the Testim gel.

if the gels do this to you then yes try using it at night say after dinner

not to close to bedtime or it may keep you up. Some men get low by dinner so do

half in the morning and the other half after dinner. Yes best time for the avg.

man is morning but your not going to copy what your body dose doing gels so it

is about what works best for you. Try doing different ways giving it 2 weeks to

tell.
