Guest guest
Bobby - I just started using hcg on Sunday. I am on Arimidex and I will be injecting 500 IU every 4 days. I think maybe I am seeing a slight improvement in libido and energy level but it could just be placebo effect. Let's stay in touch and compare notes. Guest guest
Did you have to convice your doctor to prescribe HCG? My endo is worthless so I will be heading back to my PC doc. I want to convince him to prescribe HCG but not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions? Was diagnosed secondary so I should be a good candidate. Dave " JimS. Guest guest
Dave - I am being treated by Dr. Crisler. HCG is part of his new standard TRT protocol. I am also secondary. If you want to contact Dr. to inquire about treatment you can reach him through his website www.allthingsmale.com. Guest guest
Jim, Can you give me some information on how this process works? Since you don't actually see the doctor what does he require? Guest guest
Dave - As I remember, I contacted Dr. through his website and we exchanged a couple of e-mails regarding what I was looking for and what Dr. would provide. I think he also sent me a medical questionnaire which I had to complete. He also required that I have a physical by my PCP and the results forwarded to him. I had been on Androgel (prescribed by my urologist) when I first contacted Dr. and I had some recent lab test results to send to him. He immediately started me on Arimidex to lower my E2 and ordered a new set of labs after I had been on Arimidex for about a month. Since then we have adjusted the Arimidex dosage and had one more set of labs. Dr. is very thorough. He makes sure that your overall health is being monitored by your local physician and he prescribes TRT based on your lab results and your description of how you feel. I would prefer to have a local physician just so I could sit down and talk with him instead of communicating by e-mail. But Dr. has been very thorough and responsive and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who has had a problem of getting competent treatment from a local physician. Guest guest
Jim, Thanks for the information. I am going to see what I come up with locally but if all fails I may give Dr. a try. Currently on Testim but have tried them all over the last 5 years (off and on as I could afford it). My last tests showed low LH/FSH along with low T. MRI showed no issue with my pituitary so it's kind of a mystery. Tried to get the endo to run a E2 test but he refused saying I had no obvious feminization. I still think I need to get this checked Dave " JimS. Guest guest
Hi Bobby it may not help. I was in bad shape with ED and could not reach an orgasm this was caused by high E2 Estradiol after getting it down my ED was 80% better and I now reach an orgasm to fast sometimes. To get the other 20% up to par my Dr. put me on Cialis 20 mgs. every 72 hrs. I now with the help of Cialis can have sex when ever the need comes. Also I now have my NE back all nitght long and this is good for you penis the more you get at night the healthier it is for your penis. Also it is keeping my BP down so no more BP meds. To this point my libido has not improved and erections are still somewhat difficult (without a lot of extra " attention " ). I was curious to hear from the guys that been using it WITH TRT for a period of time. TIA Bobby
Guest guest
I have been working wiith my family Dr. for over 10 years the first time I asked him to treat me he said he would look into it and the next time I went to see him he was an expert. When I come accross new info I print it and give it to him. Print this and give it to your Dr. high light the part on seconday and using hcg. Guest guest
Dave, It is possible to be secondary with no abnormality showing up on the MRI. It can be caused by damage by a viral infection, autoimmune process, and other things (I think the AACE guidelines talk about some of this as well as other books, articles, etc). In fact, I think that most of us who are secondary have had normal MRIs. Mark
