Guest guest
I'm hooked up since October of 2000 and things are still getting better for me. It's just much more subtle than in the beginning. Sometimes I may notice a sound that I don't recall having heard before. The more I listen to music, the better it gets. I believe that if I refuse to ever take my hearing for granted, then I will always find something that got better! Nuked 9/28/00 Hooked 10/26/00 I SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! Guest guest
Hi Deb, I know of folks who hear new sounds years after being implanted. Just remember, there's no set length of time for improvements and there are many factors that play a part in how much improvement and success one will have. No one is the same, but is right.. Don't ever give up, keep on practicing and be hopeful that your daughter will always continue to have ci moments. Guest guest
Hi , I am 16 years post implant and still improving. Improvement is the fastest in that first year, but I still manage to hear new things and understand a bit more as I am exposed to sound and speech in different environments. Cheers, Ruth Re: how long????? How long does the implant seem to keep improving your speech and listening skills??? 1 year post implant............2 years? 5 years? 10 years? Guest guest
I have had my CI for over four years and my hearing ability is still improving. The most dramatic improvement was during the first six months. I was understanding very well without lip-reading and even on the phone after two months, and music started sounding really good after about six months. After the first six months, it was a matter of stretching my T & C levels. I was still acclimating to my programs and needing more volume for the first 3 years. In the past year, I got the 3G processor and switched from SPEAK to the ACE programming strategy, and WOW!!! Sounds are clearer and richer than ever! I agree with the others who say that there is always ways to continue improving and enhancing hearing ability with the CI. That's one awesome thing about having a bionic ear - we have custom hearing and can have our programs so we hear the way it sounds good to us! Guest guest
Mike, My guess: 3 - 5 weeks. Varies from person to person. Factors include how low you're starting from, how well you absorb through skin, how quickly the increase in total T also increases free T. YMMV. When I was on Androgel, it seems to take maybe a week. But, within just two days or so on Androgel, I could tell a big difference sexually, nightly erections and stiff nipples in the mornings, etc. We all seem to react differently to supplemental T. And I suppose it depends in large part where one is coming from T level wise in the first place. As Philip has said, the most exciting times are ramping up from a pretty down T level, then things seem to not be quite as great. best norton
Guest guest
Hi, You will get an erection benefit when it starts raising your T level. This ramp effect goes on till you reach the high normal level and if you had ED problems before they will probably return unless it was just a lack of interest that caused the ED. Depending on the form of therapy, many have trouble with the conversion of T to E2 as the body reacts to stop the sudden surge of T. When introduced slowly the level can go up without problems usually as it the case when you receive hormone pellet therapy. ernestnolan > > > Hello, > > I just started taking Androgel 6 days ago and was wondering what > most men saw time wise before they started feeling better? 1st day, > 2 weeks, a month or 3 months? > > Mike
