Guest guest
Hi Mike I will ask for you and get back in touch. I am Dorset based. However, last week I was at my London teaching hospital for Endocrinology which deal with Pituitary and Thyroid etc and a patient was next to me from cornwall. I assume you mean Consultant Endocrinologist and not a GP who will be sympathetic? KInd regards, Re: Doc in SW UK >Hi > >Can anyone recommend a doc who understands Hypo in SW UK ? > >Also, has anyone considered a time release form of T - they use it for T3 >the thyroid hormone. > >Mike >Devon > > > > >
Guest guest
- Have we heard any news from chris_az ? I know he was on here about when I started. It seemed like he was stuck in a difficult place. Regards, Dano > Hi Mike > > I will ask for you and get back in touch. Guest guest
Hi Well both I suppose I hope to go to my gp soon for blood test, but I am not sure what reception I am going to get and whether he will refer me to a clueless endo. Just want some ammo to get the best diagnosis Cheers Mike > Hi Mike > > I will ask for you and get back in touch. Guest guest
Hi Dano I will email Chis later today. I have been concerned as he phoned me but when I tried to return the call it was either engaged or no reply. I am just waiting for a home visit from my GP myself but agree it'a long time since I heard from Chis. Thanks for your concern. How are you? Guest guest
Hi Mike Just give me a bit of time as I need to contact our National Coordinator. There are GPs actually with endocrine illnesses themselves and so very much understand the problems and diagnosis difficulties. I may have missed some earlier information from you. My new GP visited me at lunchtime and I have a chest infection with fever and so prescribed antibiotics - not feeling too well! But have you already any blood test results / medical history or previous consultation? Guest guest
Feeling much better, thank you. I just feel grateful I've got a straightforward case that has responded well to treatment. I didn't know long on here, but he did seem like he was in some real pain. I understand it can be hard to help people who are feeling so ill, but sometimes being sick you can't help yourself very well. Guest guest
Hi Mike Sorry for the delay in responding to this enquiry. I am still waiting from my Pituitary Foundation colleagues who might have other suggestions and I note Jack has sent you a Paignton Devon medic. Really you need to look on the wensite of teaching hospitals and I copy you details from London as an example: Services available: Specialist management of pituitary and hypothalamic diseases in children and adults. Investigation and management of all aspects of endocrine disorders, including: Thyroid, pituitary, adrenocortical and adrenomedullary disorders. Growth disorders. Disorders of sexual development and function. reproductive gynaecology and andrology. Bone densitometry. Disorders of calcium and bone metabolism. Biochemical investigative assays. Helical whole body and brain CT scanning. State-of-the-art MRI scanning of body and brain. Fully equipped department of nuclear medicine. Radioiodine therapy for thyroid disorders. External beam and focused stereotactic radiotherapy by linear accelerator or gamma knife. 24-hours-a-day specialist support. ____________ This hospital I attend and it has specialist endocrinology wards just for blood tests. The nearest teaching hospital is Bristol and so I would ask you visit the BRI site and see what they state as speciaalisms within Endocrinology. In the meantime I await the email response from PF - the National Coordinator moved recently and I am trying to contact her replacement. Take care Re: Doc in SW UK >Hi > >Can anyone recommend a doc who understands Hypo in SW UK ? > >Also, has anyone considered a time release form of T - they use it for T3 >the thyroid hormone. > >Mike >Devon > > > > >
