Guest guest
, I think Dr. mentions in some of the articles that have been posted here that your case is typical - most men he has seen don't see the clinical improvement with the clomid. Search on the archives for " current best thoughts " and his stuff should show up. Mark
Guest guest
Hey Mark, Thanks for the heads up. I did search and found the article. Here's the clip: I occasionally hear of physicians trying to use a SERM (Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator) such as Clomid or Nolvadex, or even an Aromatase Inhibitor (AI), such as Arimidex, as sole " TRT " . All have been shown to elevate LH, and therefore Total Testosterone levels. However, patients report no long-term subjective benefits from these strategies, and the studies thus far reported no long-term changes in lean body mass, fatigue levels, libido, etc. An added risk of using an AI is of driving estrogen levels too low, with deleterious consequences for the lipid profile, calcium deposition, libido, etc. That sucks I was wondering why i wasn't seeing ANY change after 6 months. Hey Bruce, you've been seeing Dr Schwartz much longer then I, what do you think the best way to approach him about this is? Thanks again, > > , > > I think Dr. mentions in some of the articles that have been > posted here that your case is typical - most men he has seen don't see > the clinical improvement with the clomid. Guest guest
Hi , No improvement in any of the symptoms? No results after 6 months of medication? Time to see the doc. Guest guest
Hi , Simply call him, tell him the Clomid isn't working, and ask what the next step is. I'm sure he doesn't want anyone to stay on an unhelpful treatment. Are you averse to hCG? Dr. Schwartz told me he used it himself some years back, and thought it worked well. He said he gave it up for two reasons: (1) high cost (it was a lot more expensive in the past; he might not know it's less expensive now), and (2) he got tired of the injections after a few years. Do you have his email address? If not you can call the office and get it. You could forward some of these posts on the Clomid problem. Guest guest
Hey Bruce, Is he the type of Doctor that will take offense to me doing my own work/research? I know the endo i saw before Dr. Schwartz did all but bitch slap me when i started breaking out posts and documents i printed to try to get him to realize my 385 total T was TOO low for my age. I'll have to do some reading on hcg. I've seen it discussed but never really looked into it that much. Thanks as always! - > > > > > > , > > > > > > I think Dr. mentions in some of the articles that have been > > > posted here that your case is typical - most men he has seen don't see > > > the clinical improvement with the clomid. Guest guest
Hi , Ask him if he'll mind. I think it's most unlikely you'll offend him with your own research. I asked if I was overstepping once, and he replied he was open to suggestions. If he was the same type as your last endo, he wouldn't be treating you. I suspect he'll be disappointed that the Clomid didn't help you, and he'll try to make it up by finding something that does. I've never tried hCG. If you type it in the " search archives " box, you'll find lots of info. from people who have done the research and are using it now. Guest guest
Well, thanks for at least validating Dr. Crisler's claim, but it's too bad that here you are, six months later, still trying to find proper treatment. I haven't read your previous posts. If I might ask, are you opposed to real testosterone replacement: daily Androgel or weekly testosterone cypionate ? If you haven't already, then you might want to read Dr. Crisler's entire paper. He essentially suggests using Androgel or Testosterone injections and then adding hCG to the regimen. If you do sole hCG, then don't do more than 500 IU at a time. Higher dosages are said to desensitize or even kill the leydig cells. > > > > , > > > > I think Dr. mentions in some of the articles that have been > > posted here that your case is typical - most men he has seen don't see > > the clinical improvement with the clomid. Guest guest
I am somewhat opposed to true TRT as i'm still quite young ~27 and am attempting to start a family with my wife. Possibly further down the road it won't be a big deal. > > > > > > , > > > > > > I think Dr. mentions in some of the articles that have been > > > posted here that your case is typical - most men he has seen don't see > > > the clinical improvement with the clomid.
