Guest guest
Hey, Has a doctor ever put you on TRT to get your levels into the normal range? If you have your lab results, you should post them on here. just because your T levels are up, doesn't mean you are going to feel well, The estrogens in your body can cancel out the T. The guys on this board know a lot more then I do, but I can gurantee you that your T levels are way to low at 61 ( at that level, you have a lot of room for improvement). Do you know what your free Testosterone levels are at? MY best advice is to learn all you can, I have gone through a bunch of docs and half of the ones that I have seen really don't know enough to treat hypogonadism ( even a couple of endo's didn't know much, and General physicians no nothing at all). You have to take charge of your own health and find a good doctor who knows what they are doing. And ask all the questions you can, These guys here can probably answer most of them for you, and they can probably explain it in a simpler way then the books do. also, if you have not had your thyroid tested, you need to do so because that can lower T levels and when put on TRT, it won't make a difference if your thyroid is at the root of the problem. Hang in there and best of luck. Chris > I have had low T for about eight years. Seen many 'specialists' ect > with no results. My last T was 61 with a range of 250-600. Guest guest
Where do you live? Hopefully someone here can recommend a doctor in your vicinity. Your life will improve tremendously with treatment. All of your symptoms, including the night sweats, are directly related to your non existent testosterone productions (61 is about what a healthy woman would test at, which means virtually all of your testosterone is being produced in your adrenals, and virtually none in your testicles) - You need testosterone replacement. When you are at proper T levels, you will be living a different and much improved life. Take your time though, and find the right doctor. Don't go out and self medicate. You can solve your problems, but get off on the right foot. Armyguy > I have had low T for about eight years. Seen many 'specialists' ect > with no results. My last T was 61 with a range of 250-600. Guest guest
NYRABUS, I would take the slow methodical approach. From reading your post, you give no indication if you have primary (nuts not making testosterone) or secondary (nuts not receiving signal from brain to make testosterone. Treatment can be very different....in former you will be on TRT for a long period of time if not for life, with the later, perhaps your nuts can be jump started with an hcg protocol and you can then function on your own testosterone. Two tests you need: FSH (Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)) and (LH)luteinizing hormone. I am emailing to your email addy Dr. Eugene Shippen's tele#; he has been helpful to other men by suggesting a good doctor close to them. Good luck, OR eon GayMan Eight years of hell and it continues! I have had low T for about eight years. Seen many 'specialists' ect with no results. My last T was 61 with a range of 250-600. I am constantly suffering pain (take oxycontin), have absolutely no sex life, am always exhausted, depressed, my body aches everywhere constanly. When I get up in the morning I am so stiff I can hardly walk, and oh yes have terrible day and nightime sweats that are incredible! My wife washes the bedding almost daily! YUCK!! Have just turned fifty. If I did not have a family I would have killed myself before now and still think about it when I have a very bad day and can hardly work! Have been reading all the emails from you guys for sometime and to tell you the truth I am now very confused by it all. Am currently working through and highlighting pieces in Dr Shippens book. Does anyone out there have any advice. PLEASE....NYRABUS.
Guest guest
--- Nyrabbsenoj: Have your endocrinologist check up , if not done yet, your Thyroid gland performance, if the thyroid gland is not working, all the " T " in the world will not be capitalized by your body. Symptoms of Hypothyroidism are similar to those on Hypogonadism, it is like premature aging, and can be confused by many uneducated, non understanding or stuborn all fashioned doctors. Also, you read thet here before, check your estradiol.estrogen levels and aromatase/free T percentage. Check the Thyroid gland's performance, you have too do it. Do not give up w/out fighting,I know you,ve been doing so for a long time, this time around, use the heavy artillery, its time to gain control and show off your power. One of the other replies said to get on Testosterone treatment. SOunds like a winner to me. I was put on T injections many years ago, took them for several years and then thought I could do without which I did for years, but I think I suffered from that decision. Just went back on getting the medication (patches). I think it's helping the depression (I'm in my 50's also) & have very low T level. The pain and sweats I don't know about that. I would find an endocrinologist who understands this and get the T going to bring your level up. Someone said to take charge of your own health. I know that's hard when you're depressed, but you need to do it. & find out about the pain and sweats also. I wish you well. jaydadir
