peyronie's disease

Hello Everyone,

I would like to ask what any of you people know about peyronie's disease. I

have been off of propoisona (propecia) for approximately 4-5 months and have

noticed that my dick has curved. It used to have a slight amount of

curvature in it before (barely noticeable) which is somewhat common, but I

am sure that it has gotten more worse now. Is it treatable? What casues

it? Can it be corrected? I have heard that propecia is capable of doing

this, so that's why I am so afraid.

btw I really find it unfucking believable that propecia is FDA approved

(even while urologists must be familiar with it as a cause of peyronie's).

I mean hey, while we're at it, let's approve Crack Cocaine. Honestly, I

would have rather have taken that!!!!!!

sincerely hating the FDA/CMA/AMA,

Tom

Propecia should start a law suit get together and start a big Ass law suit.

Start a group up and potion the FDA to take the shit off the market. Do you

remember the Diet drug that was out a few years back that was killing people. I

think it was called Reducts or something like this. People got together and

sued. This is the only way to get it off the market.

Everyone who has had propecia problems should make a point of filing

an adverse reactions report with the FDA. This stuff should not be

allowed with these sort of side effects.

I'll look into law suit issues later and post results.

Hey Guys,

Im curious would a lawsuit be the best way to finding a cure, that's

the main goal for people like us suffering from propecia.

Yes it should be banned, and word should get out on the negative side

effects that merck will not respond to. There are several people who

have emailed merck asking for help, and they're response was they

can't do anything. So they are aware of the issue.

I've cried many times and it's made me feel suicidal at times going

thru these problems and being unable to find a good doctor willing to

help. I did meet a MD who was a naturopath recently who seemed really

willing to help, so I hope this works out.

Our main goal is to get our lives back. Do you guys think a lawsuit

is the best way to get our lives back?

Thanks!!!

thanks retro,

I will look into the FDA adverse reactions report. I am so sick to death of

these fat cats at Merck making billions off of my tragedy (fucking capitalism,

it really makes me feel like vomiting!!). I will look up the FDA website this

weekend.

I don’t know how Americans can live in a country where less than 5% of the

population controls about 96% of the money??? (no offense, I do like Americans

)

I think that a civil revolution is in order for you guys…

No but it'll get you money to afford treatment for the rest of your

life - if you're uninsured and some money to ease the pain.

Actually money wouldnt even be worth the crap us sufferers are going

through. I would not take all the money in the world to be in this

situation. I wouldnt even mind to have gone through this experience

as long as we can all get back to normal. It has actually taught me a

valuable lesson and made be a better person (Although i am pretty

angry now!) But the thought of dealing with this for the rest of my

life especially at this age is unfathomable.

From www.drmirkin.com

Note the last paragraph, which I ***'d for emphasis.

BREAKTHROUGH IN PEYRONIE'S DISEASE

Report #7244; 10/6/97

Peyronie's disease occurs when a man's erection bends in one direction. A

recent report proposes a safe and effective cure: injections of a blood

pressure medicine (1).

Men have balloon-like blood vessels in their penis that fill with blood when

they have erections. Sometimes scar tissue forms in the balloons. Scars

cannot expand as much as balloons do, so the erected penis bends toward the

scar side. Men most likely to suffer Peyronie's disease often have high

blood pressure and high blood cholesterol and uric acid levels, which weaken

blood vessel walls (2). Then when a man makes love, the trauma breaks these

blood vessels which heal with scarring (3). Men with Peyronie's disease are

usually told to live with it unless the erection becomes painful or the bend

is so great that the man cannot engage in sexual relations. Then the usual

treatment is to cut out the scar and replace it with a graft. Needless to

say, this procedure doesn't always work.

***An exciting new report show that injections of the blood pressure

medication, verapamil, into the scar every two weeks for 24 weeks cured most

men with his condition.*** This is new untested thinking. Check with your

doctor.
