Guest guest
If you will avoid sugar for a few days the itching will probably stop. If not, insert a peeled, oiled garlic bud into the anus and retain for 24 hours. If you cannot retain it for that long, replace it. This usually works. pj __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Anal itching can be pinworms among other things. If it is there is a biochemic tissue salt call NAT PHOS. Dissolve four pellets a day in mouth. It destroys the surplus lactic acid that pinworms love. Guest guest
I know pinworms cause itching too especially at night. If it's yeast-relelated, you should give antifungal too. Diflucan is fungistatic meaning it prevents yeast from growing, so it doesn't kill any yeast. It simply waits for yeast to die from old age. Guest guest
Try treating it with available OTC medications like nystatin. Put some witch hazel on a cotton pad and use that to soothe for now, along with long soaks in the tub (air dry as long as possible before putting on clothing). If you are still stumped, take away the perfumed detergents (if you use them) and fabric softners. If he eats a lot of citrus, try eliminating that for a few weeks. My oldest's rear-end issues and loose stools were eliminated this way as a toddler (drank a ton of OJ). But, his rash was more like a diaper rash and not the red anal itch. My youngest had this exact problem and wound up with pinworms. We treated with two doses of Mebendazole with HUGE success! None of the hydrocortisone or nystatin creams had any effect. He would stop dead in his tracks to itch his rear and dig in his anus. " Professionals " told me 'that is what Autistic kids do' until I saw the pinworm in his stools. Great. Poor kid lived with this for 6 months (it was also constipating and causing some gut pain). His CBC showed highly elevated eosinophils which triggered a light bulb in my head when I looked on line to see what that result meant (also indicates allergies, which he does not have). Eosinophil numbers went back to zero when pinworms were treated. Any chance you have a blood test coming up? It is often hard to get a positive stool test for pinworms and other parasites. If he has a history, then perhaps they could just treat? Was this a symptom when he had hookworm?
