Guest guest
I would see an alternative practitioner, and holistic dentist. It could be your teeth. Be SURE to find a dentist who follows the correct protocol. I have websites for the correct protocol, and holistic dentists if you are interested. I also searched for two years to find an answer and it was my mercury amalgams. Jan I wouldn't normally post personal stuff like this but I am at a complete loss regarding my health problems and desparate for further advice. It started one year ago after becoming seriously ill with a stomach bug following ingestion of some very out-of-date herbal capsules. I know that the over-aged herbs triggered the problem, but I don't know what the problem is (i.e I have yet to be given a definitive diagnosis). The most immediate effects experienced were: increased hypersensitivities/allergies, severe nausea, dull- headedness/confusion, fatigue, congestion - mainly in the right nostil with a white stringy discharge/mucus digestive problems, and, most prominently: a pressure underneath the right lung or diaphragm making breathing more difficult and causing me to lean slightly. Also of great concern was the fact that my ribcage no longer looked equalateral: the left side protrudes as normal; the right hand side does not, and seems lower. I saw seen numerous doctors within the following 10 months and was proscribed all sorts of useless medications including various antibiotics and stereoidal nasal sprays. The main problem, I kept insisting, was the fact I seemed to have reduced lung capacity. They all said my ribcage looked normal and that it was natural for the lower ribs to change position. I had various blood tests, an X-ray and an ultrasound scan - nothing. After ten months I was told I had IBS and that there was nothing they could do. I then proceeded to spend lots of money on alternative treatments. Finally, I saw a Colonic Hydrotherapist who claimed that i did not have IBS, I merely had a congested colon. After just one treatment the intense nausea and and diahorea vanished and did not return. By the third treatment it was clear that my colon was fairly clean so I had no follow-ups. However, I still had all the other symptoms. I was recommeded a book entitled "The amazing Liver Cleanse" by s Moritz which gives similar, though less detailed, information on gallstones and cleansing etc. In the past 3 months I have radically changed my diet (I was vegetarian before that anyway), undergone 4 cleanses and released about 150 stones, mainly small white ones, also larger green ones and a number of red "spikes". I have also undertaken the parasite cleansing program. As well as this, I have taken a course of Milk Thistle, Artichoke, dandelion and bupleurum as well as a number of other supplements in fairly large amounts. I have had no improvement in the symptoms whatsoever, and in fact feel weaker than usual. A year ago i could easily cycle several miles without being out of breath. Now I can't climb a hill. I am in my mid 20's. My current symtoms are: Chronic halitosis which does not respond to local antibacterials; dizziness, lightheadedness, confusion, memory- loss, impaired vision, pale, clay-coloured stools, digestive problems, chronic fatigue and of course, the constant pressure underneath my diaphragm which is the most disturbing symptom. I also have terrible muscle cramp and allergies. I had these before I got ill anyway, but not to the degree I am experiencing at the moment. All my joints are extremely stiff. I have no idea of what to do next. I have not been given a correct diagnosis and yet I've been written off by the medical profession. I've lost count of how many appointments I've had concerning my problems. I don't know what wrong with me and I don't know what to do about it. Logic leads me to believe I have an enlarged liver for some reason and that most of my symptoms are due to this. But an enlarged liver does not automatically mean obstructions, does it? How do I know I have got some form of hepatitus or some kind of infection? I am totally in the dark.

Guest guest
Usually when people are prescribed antibiotic's and steroidal nasal sprays that has to do with sinus and allergies. Guest guest
> Usually when people are prescribed antibiotic's and steroidal nasal > sprays that has to do with sinus and allergies. Is that your problem? It is only one of many problems. I have exhaustively outlined all current symptoms in detail. The most overwhelming problem is the internal suffocation I am experiencing due to a constant pressure beneath my right lung/diaphragm. The doctors seemed largely unconcerned with this. With the blood tests they were looking for infection, liver enzymes and a couple of other things. I cant actually remember (memory loss is one of my symptoms). I also, as mentioned, had an ultrasound scan and chest x-ray. again, i cannot recall any details surrounding the why's and wherefore's. again, you'll have to forgive my lack of clarity. Unfortunately, I did not keep the out of date capsules. In hindsight that would have been extremely sensible to do, but I threw them away to make sure I didn't take any more by accident (I have on accasion taken the wrong capsule because the bottles look almost identical). I should have kept them to be analysed. I have already tried just about every herbal remedy and supplment I can think of, and in substantial doses: garlic, pure allicin, cayenne, echinacea, turmeric, goldenseal, bee propolis, ginseng, mislk thisle, dandelion, bupleurum, ginger root, high dose Vit C, omega oils etc etc etc. Only garlic or allicin in large amounts seems to make a difference which is extremely short lived and thus impossible to maintain. I have already undergone the full parasite cleansing program. I haven;t yet tried magnets or electric current. I will look into that. I am just extremely frustrated (not to mention angry) at the way i have been treated by the medical profession. I am 25 years of age, but feel more like a 90 year old hobbling around with aching joints, gasping for breath and feeling extremely ill. The doctors don't seem to give a damn and I have spent almost an entire college loan on trying to recover and have seemingly got nowhere. I have seen a colonic hydrotherapist on three occasions, an ENT specialist, a physiotherapist and a doctor specialising in bowel disorders. The symptoms are so bad I feel unable to return to my undergraduate studies. I find it hard to concentrate on normal things let alone academic study. The doctors are unconcerned about this. I am not however as it is making life unbearable. I threw the out of date capsules away - something I now regret a great deal. having said that, I couldn;t have afforded to have them analysed. I don;t know what they were looking for with reagrds to the abdominal Ultrasound scan and chest x-ray. I do remember that the were looking for infection and liver problems (enzyme imbalance, platelet count probably) amongst other things with the 2 blood tests i had. It came up all clear. To date I have seen a Chinese herbalist, an ENT specialist, a qualified physiotherapist, a colonic hydrotherapist (3 times) and a doctor specialising in bowel disorders (the latter diagnosed me with IBS). I also saw about five General Practioners on multiple occasions. With regards to herbs and supplements, I have tried the following in large amounts: cayenne, ginger, ginseng, turmeric, wormwood, cloves and black walnut (as part of huldas parasite cleanse), milk thistle, dandelion, bupleurum, artichoke, bee propolis, L-ornithine, L- cysteine, Vit C (large amounts), vitamin and mineral supplements, borage/flax oil, garlic, pure allicin, acidopholus and other probiotics, cats claw, echinacea, goldenseal. There are others, but this is all i can remember for now. The only supplement to have any noticeable effect is garlic or allicin capsules in large amounts. the effect is short-lived however, and thus impossible to maintain. I am in my mid-20's and honestly feel about 95 years of age. In fact, it's almost crippling, both mentally and physically. I have no confidence in conventional medicine and am very dubious about alternative treatments as they often cost a lot of money and do nothing or make you worse (a notible exception is colonic hydrotherapy, which I would recommend to anyone). I am not convinced that the so called " liver cleanse " actually removes anything from the liver. As far as I am aware there is no solid proof and if i have got an enlarged liver supposedly packed with gallstones, then surely I would have felt some kind of relief after four cleanses? I am not desparate enough to believe anything, but desparate enough to try (providing i can afford it). Everything I have tried so far - conventional and alternative - has failed to reduce the pressure under my lung as well as all the other current symptoms I listed in my previous post. Guest guest
How do you know that expired herbal capsules caused your long-term illnesses? Have you been tested for Lyme disease? Unbiased opinion of quackwatch??? You are joking? I'll try. The information provided on Quackwatch plays on the fears of people looking for effective remedies in alternative medicine by scaring them into thinking that advocates of alt med are engaging in charlatan activities and hustling dangerous herbs, the reporting is bias and as one-sided as it gets and the " consumer watchdog " activities of Barrett are questionable and offensive to the consumer who has and does find relief with alternative remedies. It's garbage and Kolas is his friend in the war against alt med. Good luck. Guest guest
Hello, I just want to ask you if you have any root canals or crowns. Something equally as weird and scary happened to me, symptoms off the wall and all over the place.Especially the allergies and sensiivities, muscle pain and stiffness, pain under rib cage. Mine problem was a nickel crown and the root canal it was on top of. I was highly reaactive to everything I ate or smelled or touched. The problems didn't start right away, it was about 1 or 2 years after it was put in. That tooth got infected and was pulled a year and a half ago, I started experiencing almost an immediate improvement, A very big surprise to me! After 20 years of being that ill, it was something so simple and entirely overlooked by more than a dozen doctors and dds. If you have any crowns, you can check with the dentist who put them in and the lab that made them can provide data on what they are made of. There is a web site about metal sensitivity. melisa.org
Guest guest
> How do you know that expired herbal capsules caused your long-term illnesses? > Because just prior to ingesting the capsules I was exceptionally fit and healthy!!! I literally went from being active and atheletic to becoming a virtual cripple. Walking a short distance causes great difficulties. I actually became very ill and nauseas just a few hours after taking the capsules. > Have you been tested for Lyme disease? > No, but I must point out I'm based in the UK. I have a number of mercury amalgams (they've recently been checked over). I've had an infected one before and became quite ill, but nothing like what I am experiencing now. I must point out that there is absolutely no pain under my ribcage, it is just a constant upward pressure making breathing difficult. The left hand side is fine however. I know mercury poisons the bloodstream, and I would have them replaced if I could afford it. I am doubtful whether this is responsible for my symptoms however. It looks and feels as if my ribcage has radically altered position on the right side. According to the physiotherapist I saw who was quite thorough, I have no muscular-skeletal problems. All the doctors I saw said the ribcage seemed normal. Even if it is " normal " , it has certainly altered in appearance since I became ill. This is why I am logically led to believe I could have an enlarged liver. Surely a blood test would show up any indication of hepatitus? If my liver congested with gallstones or cholesterol then why did the last cleanse only produce 2 " stones " ? And why have my symptoms not subsided after a total of four cleanses and the removal of about 150 small " stones " ? What else could cause an enlarged liver which would go undetected by blood tests, X-ray and ultrasound? Thanks for your help

Guest guest
This is confusing. If you were dx hypoT how are the doctors saying you dont have it?? Were you tested for hypoT?? You should request your doctor to run the following two blood tests: 1.Free T3,Free T4,TSH 2.Anti-thyroid Anit body panel (TPO,Tg) If any of these two tests are positive,u certainly are a candidate for hypoT and would need thyroid supplements. Guest guest
I have beeen there, one Dr. says one thing, another Doc says another. I was first diagnosed 9 yrs ago with HypoT, moved back to the US and found a new Dr who said that I didn't have it, TSH was not HIGH enough to treat. This has been goiing on until last May, when my goiter swelled to the point of particially blocking off my airway and a TSH of 150+. It had gotten this bad after being left untreated for so long. Just saw my Doc last week, she now believes theres something else wrong, that its not my thyroid thats giving me fatigue, that I am truely depressed- Dang right I'm depressed, I won't have the energy to do the things I enjoy. Oh yeah, and I might have cancer- no tests, shes just guessing because my TSH is 4.79 now (.5-5) Its in the normal range so I should be feeling normal. But as far as you having it, Are your test levels in the normal range, did you jjust have a baby when you were first diagnosed, Giving birth will throw the thyroid off temp. in some. What made the first Dr. think that you were HypoT. If you can get the test results from the first Doc that treated you, even better for your new Doc. You need to do the RESEARCH for yourself, get copies of your test results, document how you are feeling and see your Doc armed with info. I would have taken to heart what my Doc told me, but after this board and all the sites with info that they provide, I left madder then heck knowing that I am not going to get the treatment I need and time to go elsewhere Good Luck Dawn > Hello, my name is jennifer.
