Guest guest
i am just past 3 weeks almost 4 weeks actually after gall bladder removal. What's up with this " mystery back pain " ? i thought I was pretty much all fine and about 80% or better. But about a week or so now my upper or maybe middle back on the right side is sore. i saw 2 doctors Thursday and they think it is just back muscle spasms. NOT A KIDNEY problem. I don't seem to have any urination problems or anything. no fever, no sickness etc. Maybe it is simply my back, but doesn't seem like a normal back pain. meanwhile the surgery areas are a little sore and they were all cool the last week or so. Seems weird to me that the pain is sort of cycling back. I thought i was pretty much over it. I only used pain pills the first 3 days or so and felt improvement up until about 5 days or so ago. Does it seem like the pain can fluctuate back in? I thought i was over pain. the back seems the worst. it feels like about an inch or so just below my ribs on my right back area. The pain in my back/kidney/liver is not horrible- not like the gall bladder was SOOOOOO bad. But this is painful. God i hope it's not my kidney. Docs...say nope. but man it hurts..could it be the liver itself? Is there any extra stress possible on my kidneys and or liver after getting the gall bladder removed? Seems like my the liver is perhaps getting more work without the gall bladder??? thanks for any info dave
Guest guest
Hi Dave, It's been 3 years since my gall bladder was removed and I still have mystery uncomfortable spots or feelings of pressure or swelling. It doesn't stay in the same place, so I've had back pain, liver and lung. It might be easier to complain if the " spot " would stay in one place. I've thought perhaps there are still stones in my liver. Thoughts of left-behind sponges also crossed my mind.... They also use permanent clamps to seal off the blood vessel to the g/b and I think also it's bile duct. The clamps might not be the most comfortable hardware for tender tissue. I've learned you can't ever get a straight answer from doctors. They are either clueless or hiding something. They did inform me that my liver was larger than normal and shaped weird, more of a rectange shape than triangle. Towards my breastbone, my liver is just as large as the distal lobe, that part under the right arm. When pressed, it was blown off as being within normal perameters (barely) and liver panel (blood work) was normal. Yes there is extra stress on the liver during surgery. The anasthesia for one, and alagesics like morhine.. your liver filters out the junk in that. your pain pills are probably 99% acetaminaphen(Tylenol), and that is rough on a liver. (typically they Rx Vicodin or it's generic hydrocodone/APAP 5-500. I think I took only one Rx'd pain pill then just took Aleve after that for 2 days, then just toughed it out. Vicodin will also cause constipation, as do most or all narcotic pain relievers. you should probably follow Dr.s directions for doing at least 1 liver cleanse.(preceeded by parasite cleanse, bowel and kidney cleanse. This might help. I just don't know what would be a good " wait time " after surgery to do it, but I think 3 months after surgery should be ok. In the meantime, try taking some turmeric herb to see if that soothes. it works for me on bad days. dave <virtual_dude@...> wrote: i am just past 3 weeks almost 4 weeks actually after gall bladder removal.
