Following is a newspaper article on ph situation. Please keep

Joe and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Also, would like to mention that the ABC News aired the segment with Jeff

Bettendorf this evening. Seemed to be one of the best yet, the closing

thoughts were: The Secretary of the Navy has disciplined 23 sailors aboard

the USS Roosevelt for refusing anthrax inoculations however, he has yet to

receive his inoculations!!!!

20/20 will air the story tomorrow evening, I know there has been some

confusion about the air date, ABC announced it on the ABC News this

evening.

My original message to LaLeche was sent via their website. It basically

sited the DoD website and expressed surprise at breastfeeding moms being

able to get the anthrax vaccine. I asked for confirmation. Here is the

response I received.

This is very interesting in view of postings on another List concerning

mothers " catching " polio from newly immunized children after changing

diapers, etc.

here: There are many alternative treatments for anthrax infections,

and also according to Dr. Mercola that chance of spreading anthrax widely is

very, very slim. Very slim indeed. I am counting on my nontoxic,

handy-dandy colloidal silver. Colloidal silver particles are so small they

pass easily out of the body and you don't turn blue or gray from it. (Don't

tell anyone I told you! And please don't forward this post without my

permission. The Quackbuster and other similar interests get after me in a

big way when I advocate colloidal silver.)

Dear Air:

I first started the Anthrax shot's in 1998/99. I had five when the USAF

stated we did need them anymore because we were not being activated any

longer. I would have hives over the injection site pop up, redness, large

knots and the skin over the injection site would be bright red and it would

be very hot to the touch. I would get this reaction sometimes months later

after an injection. I started noticing some strength issues, etc., went to

my Dr who ended up sending me to a Neurologist. He ran a battery of tests,

and finally a DNA test because there was no HX of any issues I was

experiencing in my family. Finally, I was diagnosed with CIDP (Chronic

Inflammatory Demylinating Polyneuropathy). I asked him if the Anthrax

vaccinations I had taken were the cause of CIDP. He stated I would have to

ask the Air Force, but that CIDP was an acquired neuropathy. I reported my

issues to the medical clinic where I had received my injections and they did

a " line of duty determination " plus they filled out paper work they are

required to file under federal law with regards to adverse reactions to the

Anthrax injections. I later found out that the Air Force never filed my

paper work with the government or CDC as required by Federal Law. I got my

" line of duty determination " and the Air Force ran ever test I can think of,

talked with my civilian Neurologist, they all shared test results and the

Air Force stated they could not say that I did have CIDP or that I did not

have CIDP.

Based on their findings they did start processing me out of the USAFR, but

since I had a retirement date prior to the date on my medical board, they my

medical retirement.

Once I was out, I fought with the VA for approximately 2.5 years before they

would give me any disability for the CIDP. I was given 30% for it. I

continued to fight with them and finally I found where the VA's on legal

counsel stated that claims were compensable under my circumstances. I was

ordered to go to a VA Clinic and see a Dr. Was evaluated, asked questions

and she did a very good hands on examination and was eventually awarded a

100% disability

I am affected by the CIDP I got from the Anthrax vaccinations and it effects

my quality of life. I stumble unexpectedly when I walk and I am about to

have to start wearing braces on my lower legs to get the stamina and

sup[port I( need to be able to stand for various periods of time because it

effects my feet, ankles and lower legs more than my hands and arms. My wife

has to open jars about 60% of the time because I do not have the strength to

turn/open the lid's. I take IVIG once a day, about every 4 to 5-weeks and

it takes approximately 6.5 hrs. Without it, my symptoms get worse. Oh, it

is about $18,500 a session.

Oh, by the way, did I tell you that my personnel files have to this date,

never shown up @ ARPC or the Personnel Record in Kansas City or wherever

their final resting place is supposed to be. So that have not been seen

since May 31, 2004. Others I have talked to have said the same thing.

You have to fight the system and the Government they best you can. File a

" adverse reaction " complaint with your medical unit where you received the

vaccinations and get a " line of duty determination. " Also get you shot

records and get all the batch information for each injection you can get. I

found out that 2 of my 5 vaccinations did come from batches that had been

found to be " bad " by the government.

If you have one and can afford it, see a civilian physician and Neurologist

and get them do a workup, and fight, fight, fight for your rights because as

I found, no one seems to care, but you.

I've been in the Air Force for 16 years and when I rec'd my fifth shot I

started feeling flu like symptoms. The military which I have seen many

doctors and all they said was it was a auto immune disease and it takes six

years or more for this to run through my system. I even went to the

infectious disease doctor at University of Michigan and they couldnt help me

either. No one can help all they have said was to concentrate on stopping

some of the pain with meds. Its frustrating.
