A lot of people grew up using Ivory soap, and did not seem to have any problems with it... It does " smart, " a little, if you get it in your eyes. Sometimes my wife will use Caress bar soap for hair shampoo and in general, for her showers... This is a soft soap, I noticed, and she can use a bar of this per week. She says that it is also very gentle, and does not hurt of burn her private areas... This is also an inexpensive way to go... Zest bar soap ( " leaves skin squeeky clean " - I use this) is a detergent based soap, that lathers well, in most areas of the country... Does a great cleaning job... BE CARFUL using Borax.... Read below onder " Toxicity. " Borax, also called sodium borate, Systematic name Sodium tetraborate decahydrate Molecular formula Na2B4O7·10H2O or sodium tetraborate, or disodium tetraborate, is an important boron compound, a mineral, and a salt of boric acid. It is usually a white powder consisting of soft colorless crystals that dissolve easily in water. Borax has a wide variety of uses. It is a component of many detergents, cosmetics, and enamel glazes. It is also used to make buffer solutions in biochemistry, as a fire retardant, as an anti-fungal compound for fibreglass, as an insecticide, as a flux in metallurgy, and as a precursor for other boron compounds. Borax occurs naturally in evaporite deposits produced by the repeated evaporation of seasonal lakes (see playa). The most commercially important deposits are found in Turkey and near Boron, California; and other locations in the Southwestern United States, the Atacama desert in Chile, and in Tibet. Borax can also be produced synthetically from other boron compounds. Toxicity < This is very Important... Careful...!! Boric acid, sodium borate, and sodium perborate are estimated to have a fatal dose from 0.1 to 0.5g/kg.[3] These substances are toxic to all cells, - - and have a slow excretion rate through the kidneys... Kidney toxicity is the greatest, - - with liver fatty degeneration, cerebral edema, and gastroenteritis. Boric acid solutions used as an eye wash or on abraded skin are known to be especially toxic to infants, especially after repeated use due to its slow elimination rate.[4] Borax is used as an insecticide , to kill ants and fleas ( note that they eat it and die)... Bill....... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Borax You can order as much Borax as you need at www.store.com. <xander95608@...> wrote: http://www.soapsgonebuy.com/Articles.asp?ID=110 Ingrid <molokai_duo@...> wrote: I have been using Borax ever since I have read Dr. 's books and I really liked it. Our grocer just told me that Borax has been discontinued. I live on a small island and have no idea, how to get it. I tried to search the internet, but have not been successful yet. Does anyone of you wonderful people have an idea? I would not mind to order a case of it or in bulk. If Borax is not available anymore, is there anything else that I could use instead? I have a problem with every kind of soap and shampoo I tried so far. I truly appreciate any suggestion. Thank you. Ingrid __________________________________________________________ It's here! Guest guest
changing shampoo won't do much. It's a hormonal thing. when women are pregnant, hair volume increases. After the baby comes, hair falls out at an alarming rate then goes back to normal. During menopause, hormone drop occurs, as does hair.
